<p>Assistant Director (Academic Testing Specialist) - HEOa</p> <p>POSITION DETAILS</p> <p>The City College of New York's Office of Evaluation and Testing seeks an Assistant Director (Academic Testing Specialist) to support the administration and evaluation of campus-wide testing programs. Reporting to the Associate Director, the Assistant Director plays a key role in ensuring accurate, secure, and efficient testing services that support student placement and academic success.</p> <p>The Assistant Director coordinates and oversees the administration of placement and proficiency assessments, including the CCNY Math Placement Test, Ability-to-Benefit (ATB) Test, CUNY Accuplacer ESL Test , and other required examinations. The position manages the initial testing of approximately 5,000 new freshmen and transfer students annually and supports retesting opportunities throughout the academic year. As well assisting with the management of faculty evaluations.</p> <p>Duties include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Planning, scheduling, and supervising testing sessions, including evening and weekend administrations</p> </li><li> <p>Managing and maintaining testing data in CUNY first, Brightspace, and local databases to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with university and external reporting requirements</p> </li><li> <p>Preparing and analyzing data for institutional, system-wide, and external reporting</p> </li><li> <p>Supervising, training, and evaluating College Assistants, Office Assistants, Test Administrators, and Proctors</p> </li><li> <p>Maintaining the CCNY Testing Center, which houses approximately 50 computers</p> </li><li> <p>Ensuring compliance with security protocols, testing accommodations, and accessibility standards</p> </li><li> <p>Serving as a liaison with academic advisors, student services offices, and CUNY Central regarding testing policies, results, and placement procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Managing the distribution and collection of faculty evaluations</p> </li><li> <p>Acting on behalf of the Associate Director as needed, including staff supervision and operational oversight</p> </li><li> <p>Supporting the implementation of new technologies and procedures to enhance efficiency and student experience</p> </li><li> <p>Performing related duties as assigned</p> </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience required.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Strong organizational, analytical, and data management skills </li><li>Supervisory experience in a testing or academic services environment </li><li>Familiarity with CUNYfirst and Brightspace or comparable student information systems </li><li>Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, enforce testing security, and apply policies consistently </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with diverse populations </li><li>Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed </li></ul> <p>CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW</p> <p>Administers a College's academic testing activities under management direction.</p> <ul> <li>Supports testing development and operations for a variety of academic tests required by CUNY and/or the College </li><li>Ensures compliance with test security protocols; oversees scoring of all administered test. </li><li>Maintains integrity of testing data and timely notifications of results; oversees testing recordkeeping and file maintenance </li><li>Recommends, implements and evaluates strategies to improve testing effectiveness </li><li>Prepares analytical and statistical reports for management </li><li>Supervises and evaluates test proctors </li><li>Develops and maintains relationships with various College and University offices to improve testing services </li><li>May supervise office operations and/or department budget </li><li>Performs related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Job Title Name: Academic Testing Specialist</p> <p>CUNY TITLE</p> <p>Higher Education Assistant</p> <p>FLSA</p> <p>Non-exempt</p> <p>COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS</p> <p>Salary Range: $86,741 - $94,909.
