<p>WSP is currently looking for a Bridge Engineer to join our Transportation Group in our Raleigh, NC office!</p> <p>This is an exciting opportunity to provide technical design for both small and large-scale bridge projects. Come join our growing team!</p> <p>Your Impact</p> <ul> <li>Mid-level position to perform professional structural engineering analysis and design of transportation structure, such as bridges and retaining walls. </li><li>Typical duties may include working as part of a team of engineers to design and check bridge superstructure and substructures; develop preliminary and final plans, specifications, quantities and cost estimates; coordinate with other disciplines, subconsultants, and clients; and utilize OpenBridge software. </li><li>Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements, statistical analysis, and reporting. </li><li>Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and presentations related to current projects. </li><li>Work collaboratively with other engineers, professionals, and infrastructure authorities on Federal, State, regional, local and privately funded improvement and development projects. </li><li>Remain current in latest structural engineering techniques and practices. </li><li>Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. </li><li>Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. </li></ul> <p>Who You Are</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline. </li><li>3 to 5 years of relevant post education experience in engineering discipline and prior structural or civil design experience. </li><li>Engineer in Training Certification, Registered Professional Engineer in NC a plus. </li><li>Knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, process, codes, design/build, and the application to project work-related issues. </li><li>Capable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience. </li><li>Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment. </li><li>Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, work independently, and comply with company policies. </li><li>Moderate proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, physics, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools. </li><li>Experience with discipline-specific design software (i.e., MicroStation, OpenBridge, MDX, etc.)., math principles, spreadsheets, and tools. </li><li>Critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution. </li><li>Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. </li><li>Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek. </li><li>Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in Engineering. </li><li>NCDOT Bridge design experience and familiarity with the latest NCDOT manuals and standards. </li><li>A member of and/or actively participating in local professional practice organizations. </li></ul> <p>#LI-MC1</p>
