<p>Duties</p> <p>Lincolnshire Prairie View School District 103 is seeking individual to fill leave of absence position for School Social Worker or School Counselor working with students in EC-2. Dates of leave will run August 17, 2026 - November 30, 2026.</p> <p>Additional transition days may be needed and will be arranged between the building principal, teacher and candidate.</p> <p>JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>The School Social Worker or School Counselor will provide individual, group, and family counseling; crisis intervention; case management; advocacy; consultation; in-service and parent education; prevention programs; conflict resolution services; and community organization and development.</p> <p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Serves as a liaison between home and school; provides parental education and counseling. </li><li>Works cooperatively with other school personnel in the identification, diagnosis, and remediation of individual students with specialized needs. </li><li>Confers with school personnel regarding a student's problems. </li><li>Communicates information about a student's school problems to parents. </li><li>Consults with parents regarding ways they can help their child become effective in school. </li><li>Conducts social developmental components of a case study evaluation. </li><li>Administers and interprets adaptive behavior scales. </li><li>Obtains medical, social, or educational information about a referred student from community agencies. </li><li>Makes classroom observations of a student who has been referred following district procedures. </li><li>Confers with parents concerning their feelings about special education services/placements; prepares parents for multi-disciplinary conference. </li><li>Schedules multi-disciplinary conferences in cooperation with the psychologists. </li><li>Attends multi-disciplinary conferences; provides emotional support to parents; presents social/developmental information. </li><li>Obtains parent signatures for placement in special education programs in cooperation with other school district personnel. </li><li>Maintains accurate, complete, and punctual records as required by law, district policy, and administrative direction. </li><li>Makes provisions to be available to parents and school personnel as needed for education-related purposes. </li><li>Attends staff meetings and contributes to ongoing development of district programs through involvement with building and district committees. </li><li>Strives to maintain and improve professional competence; demonstrates awareness of limitations and strengths, acknowledging recommendations, and setting goals for growth. </li><li>Possesses and maintains current information and academic background; demonstrates observable knowledge of theory and content in general education appropriate to elementary or secondary level, and in special education appropriate for all categories. </li><li>Treats personal information about students, parents, or staff members confidentially and ethically by discussing such personal information only with individuals having a demonstrable educational interest in the student. </li><li>Maintains communication and positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and community. </li><li>Supports Lincolnshire-Prairie View School District 103 and imparts a positive image of the district within the community. </li><li>Uses appropriate channels of communication. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education, Licensure, and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Illinois Professional Educator License </li><li>School Social Worker endorsement OR </li><li>School Counseling endorement </li><li>Related Master's Degree or better from an accredited college or university </li><li>Must be able to perform all of the duties and responsibilities of the position </li></ul> <p>Salary/Benefits</p> <p>Salary:</p> <p>Information can be found in the D103 Teacher's Association Master Contract.
