<p>NHTI Concords Community College</p> <p>Position Type: Part-time, adjunct</p> <p>Semester: Spring 2026 (1/20/26-5/10/26)</p> <p>Compensation: $825 - $975 per credit, based on adjunct faculty rank (determined by education and experience)</p> <p>Position Overview:</p> <p>NHTI is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach our lab science courses in biology, especially sections of BIOL 195C, BIOL 196C, and/or BIOL 202C. These courses provide students with essential knowledge in biology, anatomy & physiology, and microbiology, focusing on practical applications and real-world relevance.</p> <p>Course Details:</p> <ul> <li>Course Name: BIOL 195C Anatomy & Physiology I, BIOL 196C Anatomy & Physiology II; BIOL 202C Microbiology </li><li>Credits: 2 </li><li>Lecture Hours: 3 </li><li>Lab/Practicum Hours: 2-3 </li><li>Schedule: Saturdays </li><li>Location: NHTI Campus, Concord, NH </li></ul> <p>Course Description:</p> <p>BIOL 195C: An introduction to the structure and function of the human body. Includes elementary cytophysiology, histology, and anatomy and physiology of the integumentary system, skeletal system, muscular system, nervous system, and special senses. Lab work parallels lecture topics and includes microscopy, study of human anatomical models, dissection of preserved animals, and physiological experimentation.</p> <p>BIOL 196C: A continuation of BIOL 195C. Includes anatomy and physiology of the endocrine system, circulatory system, immune system, respiratory system, digestive system, excretory system, and reproductive system. Other topics covered include nutrition and metabolism, acid/base balance, fluid and electrolyte balance, and genetics. Lab work parallels lecture topics and includes microscopy, study of human anatomical models, dissection of preserved animals, and physiological experimentation.</p> <p>BIOL 202C: Lectures focus on three major areas: basic concepts of microbiology, including morphology and physiology of prokaryotes, eukaryotes, and viruses; host resistance to disease and immunology; and epidemiology of selected diseases caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoa, and parasitic worms. Labs focus on three major areas: basic skills such as staining, microscopy, and isolation techniques; bacterial physiology as is pertinent to identification of bacterial species; and control of microorganisms via chemotherapeutic agents, physical means, and chemical disinfectants.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Teach the assigned course using provided curriculum and instructional materials aligned with program standards. </li><li>Facilitate class discussions, assignments, and assessments to foster student engagement and learning. </li><li>Provide regular feedback and maintain accurate records of student progress. </li><li>Maintain professional currency in the field and comply with college policies and standards. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Education: Masters degree in biology or related field or at least 12 graduate credits in the field. </li><li>Experience: Prior teaching experience and familiarity with Canvas (or similar LMS) preferred. </li><li>Residency: Must reside in NH, VT, ME, MA, RI, or CT. </li></ul> <p>Application Process:</p> <p>Submit a completed employment application with a cover letter, CV/resume, and copies of official or unofficial transcripts.
