<p>Duties</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students experiencing emotional, social, or</p> <p>behavioral challenges.</p> <p>Assess students' emotional, social, and behavioral needs through observation, interviews, and</p> <p>standardized tools.</p> <p>Develop and implement individualized IEP goals for students with social-emotional concerns or</p> <p>behavioral difficulties.</p> <p>Collaborate with teachers and staff to identify students who may require additional support.</p> <p>Provide immediate support and intervention for students experiencing acute emotional distress,</p> <p>trauma, or other crises.</p> <p>Work closely with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to promote a positive and</p> <p>supportive school environment.? Participate in team/IEP meetings to address student needs and develop strategies for managing</p> <p>challenging behaviors or academic concerns.</p> <p>Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress,</p> <p>behavioral issues, and emotional well-being.? Provide resources, referrals, and guidance to families for support outside of school, including</p> <p>mental health services, community programs, and parenting strategies.</p> <p>Teach students about social-emotional learning (SEL) concepts such as empathy, teamwork,</p> <p>resilience, and self-regulation.</p> <p>Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions, assessments, and</p> <p>interventions.</p> <p>Document and track student progress, communicating updates to parents, teachers, and</p> <p>administrators as necessary.</p> <p>Act as District Homeless Liaison per McKinney-Vento Act.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education: A degree in Social Work (MSW) or School Counseling from an accredited university.</p> <p>Licensing: Professional Educator License (PEL) along with proper Illinois endorsement.</p> <p>Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to collaborate with</p> <p>diverse groups, including students, parents/guardians, teachers, and community agencies.</p> <p>Knowledge: Knowledge of child development, mental health disorders, crisis intervention, and social-emotional learning practices.</p> <p>Salary/Benefits</p> <p>Salary and benefits commensurate with education and experience per teacher's contract and are available on our website.</p> <p>Additional Notes</p> <p>Job Purpose:</p> <p>To provide counseling, support, and intervention to students, addressing mental health needs, behavioral</p> <p>issues, and social-emotional development.
