Candidates who have previously submitted an application and were referred to the hiring manager are still being considered and do not need to reapply.?</p> <p>Raleigh Water is seeking a motivated individual to join our Wastewater Maintenance team as a Part-Time General Laborer to support operations at the City's wastewater treatment plants.</p> <p>The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.</p> <p>The incumbent will perform routine manual labor and general maintenance tasks in support of plant operations, groundskeeping, and housekeeping functions by performing the following duties:</p> <ul> <li>Assists operations and maintenance staff with general labor tasks related to wastewater treatment plant operations </li><li>Performs routine housekeeping duties, including cleaning work areas, equipment, tanks, and structures </li><li>Assists with basic maintenance activities such as material handling, painting, pressure washing, and minor repairs </li><li>Loads, unloads, and transports tools, equipment, and materials </li><li>Supports safe work practices by following established safety procedures, including confined space and PPE requirements </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned in support of wastewater treatment plant operations </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <p>High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency and 1 to 3 years' experience in routine/minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical or related maintenance work</p> <p>OR</p> <p>Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted</p> <p>Computer Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Basic ability to use simple electronic devices or systems for communication and timekeeping is preferred </li></ul> <p>Licensing and Certifications:</p> <ul> <li>Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire </li></ul> <p>Other Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Must be able to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, climbing, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and basic maintenance equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Willingness to follow safety procedures and work around wastewater treatment processes</p> </li></ul> <p>ADA and Other Requirements:</p> <p>City of Raleigh is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer.
