The CAS-South and CAS-North units, along with the Mobile Home Park Water Quality Unit in the DWCAS exist to complete assigned compliance assurance, compliance assistance, and formal enforcement activities in accordance with DWCAS standards for work quality, timeliness, business processes, and procedures. For its assigned public water systems, CAS-South and CAS-North are responsible for maintaining accurate and complete information in the database(s) of record, establishing regulatory monitoring requirements, providing compliance assistance, reviewing and analyzing self-reported analytical data and other compliance information, and applying regulation and policy to assess compliance, notifying water systems of non-compliance, entering and tracking violations in the database(s) of record, conducting informal enforcement and developing formal enforcement orders and tracking and following up on issued orders.</p> <p>What you will be doing:</p> <p>This entry-level position exists, with direct supervisor oversight, to perform compliance and enforcement production work. This includes managing water system inventory updates, managing monitoring requirements, reviewing compliance data, issuing violations (when applicable), and managing assigned cease-and-desist orders. This position also provides assistance to systems to help them understand their monitoring and/or public notice requirements and responds to inquiries from the public, media, legislators, EPA, and others.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights</p> <p>Residency Requirement:</p> <p>This posting is only open to residents of the State of Colorado at the time of submitting your application.</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Experience Only:</p> <p>Four (4) years of relevant experience in environmental engineering, environmental consulting or environmental science.</p> <p>OR</p> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <p>A combination of related education in chemistry, biology, engineering, environmental science, geology, water resources, watershed science, hydrology, or a closely-related technical field and/or relevant experience in environmental engineering, environmental consulting, environmental science equal to four (4) years</p> <ul> <li>This experience must be substantiated within the Work Experience section of your application.
