As a Bridge Engineer, you will support the engineering design of structures. You will provide top-of-the-industry engineering services that are verified through a rigorous QC process. You will create connections with team members. Your efforts will support in developing client relationships through utilizing cutting-edge technology, innovation, and designing infrastructure that will last.</p> <p>What are the core responsibilities for the role?</p> <ul> <li>Design or check retaining wall and other structural components in support of roadway or site civil projects </li><li>Prepare structure type selection studies </li><li>Work in cooperation with bridge staff to deliver PS&E contract documents on time and within the project budget for local agencies, federal agencies, and state DOTs </li><li>Perform bridge designs and load ratings using spreadsheets, finite element software and/or other bridge software </li><li>Design or check retaining wall and other structural components in support of roadway or site civil projects </li><li>Assist the local team to establish and maintain client relationships; ability to coordinate and communicate with clients to ensure project design objectives are met and achieve client satisfaction </li><li>Assist in building a strong regional presence for the firm in transportation related structural engineering </li></ul> <p>Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>B.S. degree in Civil Engineering (Master's with a structures emphasis a plus) </li><li>Passed P.E. exam (Registered P.E. a plus) </li><li>3-7 years of experience </li><li>Knowledgeable in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Microstation </li><li>Have a strong sense of self-initiative to meet client deadlines </li><li>Prioritize work to meet various project requests and deadlines, answering to various engineers and project managers </li><li>Experience working in bridge design team </li><li>Manage project data files from various sources </li><li>Be proactive and responsive in effectively communicating with colleagues and clients, both in-person and virtually/remotely </li><li>Ability to travel and perform fieldwork on occasion </li><li>Must be able to work independently with the ability to accomplish multiple tasks, with competing priorities </li></ul> <p>Why would a candidate want this job?</p> <p>At Horrocks, you can expect a competitive base salary and award-winning benefits.
