Join our team!</p> <p>General purpose and scope of the position:</p> <p>Help students to learn subject matter which will lead toward fulfillment of their potential intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth. Directs, assesses, and evaluates the learning experiences of students along with assessing the effectiveness of the academic area/s in which he/she is employed to teach. Provide instruction needed for students to qualify for certification in the respective fields.</p> <p>Provide instruction in the automotive program to prepare students to apply technical knowledge and skills to repair, service, and maintain all types of automobiles.</p> <p>Major Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Approach subject matter in a positive and enthusiastic manner. </li><li>Begin and end classes on time according to IDOC, Correctional Facility, and Ivy Tech schedules. </li><li>Provide guidance and counsel to the students which will promote their welfare and their proper educational development. </li><li>Make provisions, if known, for students with identified exceptionalities. </li><li>Provide education services utilizing the materials and equipment required in the curriculum from the Certifying Agency </li><li>Maintain records as required by the Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC), the Correctional Facility, Ivy Tech Community College, and the Certifying Agency. </li><li>Assess student learning according to Indiana Workforce Development Educational Functioning Level Assessment Policy, DWD Policy. </li><li>Maintain records as required by the Indiana Department of Corrections, the Correctional Facility, and Ivy Tech. </li><li>Record student data in a Department of Workforce Development database for National Reporting Purposes. </li><li>Utilize time card machines for accurate recording of student participation hours. </li><li>Adhere to professional ethical standards both on the job and off. </li><li>Establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships with students, peers, and community leaders. </li><li>Provide for the care and protection of Ivy Tech and Facility property. </li></ul> <p>Pay and Benefits:</p> <p>Salary range $50,000-$57,000. Already hold or agree to obtain facility-provided training for certifications.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <p>Bachelor's degree.
