<p>Department</p> <p>Department of Information Technology Services (ITS)</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Research Technologies is tasked with providing high-level, personal technology support for researchers at FSU. This encompasses various areas, including research computing, data storage, algorithm development, and concierge services, which integrate with other IT areas. This position will focus on AI support for researchers across multiple scientific disciplines.</p> <p>The Director of AI Research Solutions will provide strategic leadership in advancing and integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) across the university's research enterprise. This role collaborates closely with the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) to foster AI adoption, facilitate interdisciplinary coordination, and enhance the university's reputation in AI research and innovation.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Serve as the primary technical advisor in AI domains, including but not limited to machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, generative AI, and data science, supporting faculty, staff, and student researchers. </li><li>Design and implement programs that integrate AI methodologies into research activities; provide guidance on resource acquisition and establish service protocols in alignment with institutional objectives. </li><li>Lead university-wide initiatives to optimize AI resources and infrastructure, chair relevant working groups, and develop communications that articulate the impact of AI research. </li><li>Maintain expertise in emerging AI technologies and best practices; contribute to national academic forums and assist in shaping the university's AI strategy. </li><li>Collaborate with ITS and OVPR to formulate financial models supporting sustainable AI services. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Master's degree from an accredited institution with demonstrated record of academic research achievement, or professional qualifications in the field of specialization above those which would be equivalent to the highest degree. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Research Associate.
