<p>Position Summary</p> <p>The primary functions of this role are to:</p> <p>1) execute established Raw Material, In Process Materials, Finished Product, and Failure Analysis methods to enable R&D initiatives and resolve technical challenges.</p> <p>2) recommend and contribute to the optimization/modification of existing methods and establishment of new ones to meet evolving R&D needs and</p> <p>3) over time develop understanding of chemistries, materials and process transformations to create greater value and/or eliminate wasted effort/cost.</p> <p>The individual will be expected to use a variety of Battery Life Test Systems, Safety Test Systems, environmental chambers, shock and vibration testers, meters, gauges, power supplies, and various test lab management tools.</p> <p>Responsibilities/Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Proficient in ability to perform high quality execution of established methods to achieve desired goals or results. </li><li>Methods and measurements will include but not limited to: </li><li>Battery internal gas measurements using a manometer or pressure transducer approach. </li><li>Leakage assessment visually and/or by using automated extraction method. </li><li>Pre and post-test battery electrical measurements. </li><li>ANSI and IEC standards for primary chemistry cells </li><li>Proficient in performing against multiple projects in parallel. </li><li>Mentor and train junior employees on established methods and new ways of thinking. </li><li>proficient in analyses (statistical, if needed) of data to uncover new findings from R&D work. </li><li>Use Lab Information Management system to execute daily scheduled tasks and enter method results. </li><li>Monitor environmental chambers and lab temperatures. </li><li>Comply with the lab's accreditation, operation, and EH&S requirements </li><li>Provide insights from "project level" R&D work. </li><li>ability to identify and improve (streamline or increase value) methods to create greater value and/or eliminate wasted effort/cost. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications & Skill Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Degree in scientific discipline.
