<p>Southland Holdings is seeking a skilled Project Manager with 5-10 years of Heavy Civil construction experience specifically in Water/Water Treatment projects to assist in multiple locations throughout Colorado.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Ensure a "Safety First" attitude throughout the project from all levels of management and operations </li><li>Develop and maintain a working relationship with the owner or the owner's representative </li><li>Read, understand, and plan according to the work specifications and contract responsibilities </li><li>Anticipate project conflicts, communicate preventative action plans, and implement solutions to avoid issues </li><li>Understand and plan work according to project plans, change orders, shop drawings, subcontracts, purchase orders, and monthly pay estimates </li><li>Create, update, review, and maintain budget for project. Generate solutions to stay on time and on budget </li><li>Monitor the cost of Equipment on the project and implement strategies to stay within budget </li><li>Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines In P6 CPM </li><li>Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill </li><li>Oversee daily field activities leading to optimal progression of project with Superintendents </li><li>Present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public </li><li>Serves as customer liaison </li><li>Manages change orders, budget schedule, claims, safety, staff, etc. </li><li>Has overall responsibility for entire project or projects </li></ul> <p>Other Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to legally work in the United States </li><li>Must be willing to work in a drug-free environment and agree to a post offer drug test. </li><li>Must be willing to work safely and keep OSHA recordable incidents to a minimum. </li><li>Moderate to high level of proficiency operating Primavera 6 CPM scheduling software </li><li>Moderate to high level of proficiency operating MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint </li><li>Profit/loss experience for moderate to major projects or multiple smaller projects </li><li>Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards and specialty bridge design software; must be proficient with MS Office. </li><li>Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively plan and organize to meet project deadlines. </li></ul> <p>Education and/or Experience</p> <p>B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent combination of education and/or experience</p> <p>5 to 10 years of construction experience especially in water infrastructure projects to support important work in Colorado.</p> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities</p> <p>Supervise, manage, and direct the selection, training, development, appraisal, and work assignments of personnel.</p> <p>Select and oversee Subcontractors and Suppliers</p> <p>Certificates</p> <p>Current driver's license, Professional Engineering License (required).</p> <p>Language Skills</p> <p>Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.</p> <p>Mathematical Skills</p> <p>Ability to work with mathematical concepts related to structural engineering and related calculations. Individual should some level of business acumen, including knowledge of operating expenses, profit, etc. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.</p> <p>Reasoning Ability</p> <p>Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.</p> <p>Computer Skills</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word-Processing software, reporting tools related to databases. Must have the ability to learn design software programs.</p> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
