<p>Now Hiring: Special Education Teacher</p> <p>Leominster Center for Excellence & Leominster Academy</p> <p>Leominster Public Schools seeks a dynamic and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support student success across two innovative high school programs: Leominster Center for Excellence (LCE) and Leominster Academy. This role offers the opportunity to work with students in both an in-person alternative setting and a virtual learning environment, serving as a critical support for credit recovery and personalized academic pathways.</p> <p>Position Overview</p> <p>This is a full-time, shared position between two programs:</p> <p>Leominster Center for Excellence (LCE) - An alternative high school focused on project-based learning, credit recovery, and individual student growth. This position focuses on credit recovery.</p> <p>Leominster Academy - A virtual high school providing flexible, remote learning options for students in Grades 9-12 through digital platforms such as Edgenuity.</p> <p>The Special Education Teacher will provide direct services and case management to students with IEPs in both settings, collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure accommodations are met and goals are achieved.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>At LCE (In-Person):</p> <ul> <li>Support students in credit recovery and individualized learning plans. </li></ul> <p>Deliver specially designed instruction aligned to students' IEP goals.</p> <p>Implement social-emotional supports and behavior intervention plans as needed.</p> <p>Participate in Student Support Team (SST) meetings and support wraparound services.</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with a small, dedicated team to re-engage learners in a nontraditional setting. </li></ul> <p>At Leominster Academy (Virtual):</p> <ul> <li>Provide virtual IEP services including live instruction, progress monitoring, and data collection. </li><li>Serve as liaison for students in a fully remote or hybrid learning environment. </li><li>Coordinate with virtual content teachers to ensure accessibility and accommodation. </li><li>Monitor attendance, progress, and engagement in online courses. </li><li>Support reentry plans for students transitioning between settings. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>MA DESE certification in Moderate Disabilities (5-12). </li><li>Experience with alternative education, credit recovery, or virtual instruction. </li><li>Proficiency with digital platforms such as Google Workspace and Edgenuity. </li><li>Strong communication and collaboration skills. </li><li>Commitment to equity, flexibility, and trauma-informed practices. </li></ul> <p>What We Offer</p> <ul> <li>A supportive, student-centered team culture. </li><li>Flexible scheduling and autonomy to design creative interventions. </li><li>Opportunities for professional growth and innovation. </li><li>A chance to make a lasting impact on students who need it most. </li></ul>
