<p>North America Corporate Occupational Health Nurse (NA-OHN)</p> <p>Under the general direction of the North America Integrated Health Services Manager, Corteva Global Medical Director and within the general framework of the Integrated Health Services Operating Discipline and Clinical Guidelines, provide clinical care services, health assessment program management including medical surveillance, travel consultations and general preventive health services for NA Corteva employees, specified contractor employees, visitors of Corteva's Indianapolis Global Business Center and for designated Corteva Sites without an onsite Integrated Health Services clinic</p> <p>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>How will you help us Grow? It Matters to us, and it matters to you!</p> <ul> <li>Provide nursing assessment and interventions within the scope of practice of the practitioner. Assessment includes obtaining a complete history, performing a physical assessment noting deviations from the norm, and making a nursing assessment. Interventions include recommending specialist consultations and recommending medical limitations or restrictions to activity, all within the Clinical Guidelines approved by the site or 3PV physician. </li><li>Provide travel health counseling and services for Corteva business travelers. This includes counseling on specific health concerns based on the traveler's itinerary and providing or arranging the recommended immunizations, medications or other interventions needed. </li><li>Provide emergency response on site at Global Business Center as designated by Site Security and leadership. </li><li>Provide medical surveillance support (testing and tracking) to NA Corteva Employees and designated contract employees at designated Corteva sites. </li><li>Provide first aid/initial treatment and triage to NA Corteva Employees and contractors who experience work-related injuries. </li><li>Perform EKG's, PFT's, respirator fit testing, vision testing, audiograms, phlebotomy, glucose testing, urine collection for UA and drug screens as directed. </li><li>Provide educational offerings to NA Corteva Employees at the Indianapolis Global Business Center and to NA Corteva Sites without an onsite Integrated Health Services clinic. </li><li>Collaborate with Corteva Occupational Health Nursing Staff across North America </li><li>Lead and participate in special projects assigned by North America Integrated Health Services Manager and Global Integrated Health Services team. </li><li>Collaborate and communicate effectively cross functionally with other Corteva Businesses </li><li>Participate in the development and maintenance of NA and Global Standards, Guideline, and Process for Corteva Integrated Health Services </li><li>Participate as a member of the Internal Corteva EHS&S Audit team as directed by North America Integrated Health Services Manager </li><li>Ensure that all NA Integrated Health Services Standards, Guideline, and process are implemented at all sites as appropriate. </li><li>Virtual back-up clinician as needed for the Integrated Health Services for Indianapolis Global Business center and remote sites as directed by North America Integrated Health Services Manager. </li><li>Manage Procurement needs for NA and or Global Corteva Integrated Health Services under the direction of the North America Integrated Health Services Manager, Corteva Global Medical Director </li><li>Actively seek opportunities for growth in this role. </li><li>Actively participate in internal Integrated Health Services Meetings i.e., 1:1 meeting with North America Integrated Health Services Manager, Global Standards and Guidelines meeting, work comp meetings, STD meetings and NA Team meetings, </li></ul> <p>CASE MANAGEMENT RESPOSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Provide Personal and Work - related injury Case Management as defined in Corteva's Standard and Guidelines. Case Management includes working with third party vendors, obtaining, and reviewing health and position information on a case, developing a specific plan for returning the employee to the highest-level job capability given the medical condition and they are monitoring, tracking, and communicating progress. </li><li>Participate and lead MRB (Medical Review Board) according to company guidelines. </li><li>Provide medical advice/input to site leadership on work- relatedness of injuries/ illness. Organize independent medical examinations as appropriate and in coordination with Corteva Integrated Health Services. </li></ul> <p>TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>The Corporate Occupational Health Nurse will travel to Corteva NA sites they support. Travel is based on the travel plan they create with the North America Integrated Health Services Manager and EHS&S support direction. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Able to respond to emergency calls on site at the Johnston Global Business Center (Running and/or walking) </li><li>Able to lift 40 lbs. or less. </li><li>Able to squat, bend, twist, grasp. </li><li>Able to climb stairs as needed to perform the job. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>EDUCATION/TRAINING:</p> <ul> <li>Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Iowa (Compact license) and willing to obtain required RN licensure for states supported without the compact license. </li><li>American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR Certification required; Instructor Certification preferred. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent desirable </li><li>Certification in Occupational Health Nursing or willing to obtain. </li></ul> <p>TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:</p> <p>Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, toxicology, health promotion, lifestyle risk factors and ergonomics, especially as related to the occupational environments is essential. Specific training in physical skills assessment and in the theory and implementation of specific medical testing as expected. Certification in Hearing Conservation and Spirometry is desirable. Proficiency in phlebotomy and EKG testing is also required. In addition, knowledge of the laws, regulations and standards governing health and safety for employees is necessary. Finally, there should be practical knowledge of the principles of epidemiology, safety, industrial hygiene, wellness, and behavioral change theory.</p> <p>Able to use Microsoft tools, Electronic medical record, and general computer use.</p> <p>JOB EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>Three to five years' experience in nursing</p> <p>Three to five years' experience in Occupational Health Nursing desirable</p> <p>HUMAN RELATIONS:</p> <p>Requires a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills, (negotiation skills), persuasiveness, diplomacy, and tact to provide coordination of health care for Corteva employees. Must interact with site supervision, business leaders, non-exempt, and hourly personnel in all functions. Must interact with peers and functional leaders at other Corteva sites to exchange technical information and encourage sharing of ideas.</p> <p>SCHEDULE:</p> <p>40 hours/week, with primary work schedule being days, Monday-Friday.
