<p>### About the role</p> <p>As a Product Designer II on Uber AI Solutions, you will design the future of flexible work in an AI-first world. You'll create simple, clear experiences that help our 10M+ earners-drivers and couriers around the globe-discover and complete both on-the-road field tasks and digital tasks that help train the world's AI models, while extending real earning opportunities on Uber.</p> <p>You'll also design the complex tools and workflows that our clients and internal teams use to define and manage these tasks, so they are created, presented, and completed in ways that feel seamless and intuitive to earners. You'll turn a very complex marketplace into flows that feel straightforward, fair, and easy to navigate for the people who rely on Uber to earn.</p> <p>### What you'll do</p> <ul> <li>Onboard to Uber Design and Uber AI Solutions: learn how we collaborate, design with Uber's Base design system, and apply principles of clarity, inclusion, accessibility, scalability, and localization to a global earner and client audience. </li><li>Onboard to your product area: meet cross-functional partners, understand business and AI training goals, get familiar with existing tech platforms, and learn how work moves from idea to launch in Uber AI Solutions. </li><li>Deliver end-to-end product work across a range of problem sizes, from well-understood flows to more conceptual, multi-sided problems-owning a roadmap area focused on earner task experiences and/or client tooling. </li><li>Lead the end-to-end design process: build a deep understanding of earners and clients through research and data, explore the problem space, design at multiple levels of fidelity, and collaborate closely with engineers and cross-functional partners to ship high-quality experiences. </li><li>Practice strong product thinking and craft: connect user needs, business goals, and AI/marketplace constraints, turning them into simple, clear flows and task experiences; document patterns and frameworks so others can build on your work and raise the quality of the product. </li><li>Operate with clarity, efficiency, and collaboration: prioritize and manage your time across multiple projects, work with high autonomy, and partner effectively with design, product, engineering, operations, and data to move work forward. </li><li>Communicate and influence: present your work and rationale with clarity, facilitate collaborative design sessions, build trusting relationships, and grow your impact by helping raise the quality bar and culture of the design team. </li></ul> <p>### Basic qualifications</p> <ul> <li>3+ years of experience in product design, interaction design, or UX design building and shipping digital products. </li><li>A portfolio that shows end-to-end product work, including how you simplified complex problems and the outcomes your work drove. </li></ul> <p>### Preferred qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience designing in complex domains such as marketplaces, logistics, B2B tools, internal tools, or data/ML/AI-related products. </li><li>Experience working in cross-functional teams with Product Managers and Engineers from discovery through delivery. </li><li>Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (for example, Figma). </li><li>Strong interaction and systems design skills, with a focus on clarity and usability. </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills; you can explain your work and the trade-offs behind your decisions to different audiences. </li><li>Comfort working in fast-paced, ambiguous spaces and bringing structure to complex problems. </li><li>Experience designing workflows or tools for operations teams, clients, or other professional users. </li><li>Familiarity with experimentation (for example, A/B testing) and using data to inform decisions. </li><li>Experience contributing to or working with design systems. </li><li>Experience collaborating with or incorporating insights from UX Research. </li><li>Experience mentoring other designers or leading initiatives across teams is a plus. </li></ul> <p>### What you'll need to succeed</p> <ul> <li>A deep interest in the people who rely on Uber to earn and a desire to improve their day-to-day experience. </li><li>Curiosity about AI and how to turn complex technology and systems into clear, understandable experiences. </li><li>A bias for clarity, shipping, and learning quickly-using experiments and research to refine the work over time. </li><li>A collaborative, low-ego approach and the ability to build trust with partners across design, product, engineering, and operations. </li></ul> <p>For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$153,000 per year - USD$170,000 per year.</p> <p>For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$153,000 per year - USD$170,000 per year.</p> <p>For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
