<p>HEALTH OFFICER DIRECTOR</p> <p>GENERAL SUMMARY</p> <p>The purpose of this job is to direct the Health & Community Services Department. Provides public health expertise to county leadership and external partners. Provides leadership over health-related activities within county operations. Serves as the County's designated health officer.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Supervises the work of assigned personnel, including assigning and reviewing work, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations. </li><li>Manages, oversees, and administers all Health & Community Service (HCS) Department programmatic operations. </li><li>Develops and implements strategic and long-term planning to create new opportunities offered by HCS to address County public health needs. </li><li>Provides leadership and guidance to County partners and organizations to promote collaboration and growth of community services. </li><li>Fosters productive relationships with health state departments, local agencies, and community organizations; secures contracts and agreements to provide health services. </li><li>Recommends funding and program initiatives to the Board of Commissioners. </li><li>Serves as the County Health Officer during emergencies. </li><li>Performs related work as required. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Required Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Graduate degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Public Health, or a related field </li><li>9+ years of related work experience in public health and administration, public relations, and environmental health </li><li>Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities </li></ul> <p>Veterans are encouraged to apply.
