<p>Position Description : We are looking for a highly skilled structural engineer with a history of success executing design build projects in health care and/or higher education and/or performing seismic evaluation and retrofits on existing buildings in California. The ideal candidate is an experienced Project Manager who excels in technical leadership, business development and staff mentorship. This opportunity is available in Sacramento or North Orange County.</p> <p>Compensation and Benefits : The annual salary for this position generally ranges from $180,000 to $220,000 with an incentive compensation plan. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to pay transparency laws. Actual pay rates will vary depending on company geographic differentials and candidate experience and qualifications.</p> <p>Benefits include health and life insurance, a 401(k) plan with company Profit Sharing contribution, employee ownership in a privately held stock plan, financial support for professional activities, a generous paid time off program, paid parental leave and many other perks.</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities : As a technical leader in the firm, Principals are expected to mentor and develop engineering staff, effectively manage structural projects, and successfully develop client relationships to achieve annual revenue goals.</p> <ul> <li>Model, foster and hold others accountable to a culture of teamwork, inclusion, collaboration and respect. </li><li>Lead the project team from conceptual design through construction administration. Clearly and confidently communicate key messages and expectations to promote quality outcomes. </li><li>Keep project team members fully utilized. Coordinate the activities of project managers and supervise staff to maintain the desired multiplier while satisfying client expectations for quality and service. </li><li>Initiate and maintain relationships with key contacts to market firm's reputation and support business development efforts. Identify opportunities and help secure new or add-on work at existing clients. </li><li>Hold a leadership role in industry activities related to structural or earthquake engineering. </li></ul> <p>Application Process : Please submit your resume and a targeted cover letter describing the alignment of your background with this position.</p> <p>Minimum Requirements :</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering required. </li><li>15+ years of education and experience in the structural, seismic, or forensic engineering fields beyond BS degree. </li><li>California Civil Engineering license required. </li><li>A target client base that will drive annual project manager revenue goals. </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications :</p> <ul> <li>MS degree in Structural Engineering. </li><li>Registration as a Structural Engineer in California. </li><li>Minimum of 6 years of experience managing technical staff. </li><li>Experience in post-earthquake reconnaissance and/or research related to structural, seismic, or forensic engineering. </li></ul>
