<p>Duties</p> <p>The music teacher is responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons that promote students' creativity and musical development. This role involves creating a positive learning environment, encouraging students to express themselves, and ensuring students develop basic skills. The teacher maintains regular communication with parent(s)/guardian(s) with regard to their instructional program and student progress.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Current and valid Illinois Professional Educator License with a music/band endorsement for grades K-8; </li><li>Ability to tailor lessons to accommodate diverse learning needs and abilities, ensuring all students have opportunities for creative expression; </li><li>Ability to foster a love for music; </li><li>Foundational knowledge of Google Classroom applications and the ability to incorporate technology as a means of enhancing instruction. ; </li><li>Individual must be flexible, creative and student centered; Ability to assess the learning of students and modify or enhance instruction as needed; Able to work with a diverse student population and establish open and regular communication with parents and guardians. </li></ul> <p>Salary/Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Starting salary of $43,395 with B.A. and no experience or steps on the salary schedule; (Please click the link to view the current salary schedule https://core-docs.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/4693/SHSD/4064675/Collective_Bargaining_Agreement__Teacher_Contract__2023-2027.pdf </li><li>Salary is commensurate with education and experience; </li><li>Full TRS paid by the Board of Education; </li><li>Qualified candidates may be granted up to fifteen years of verified full-time teaching experience for credit on the salary schedule; </li><li>We offer a mentoring program for teachers who are new to the District; </li><li>The District offers a competitive benefits package, which includes health (Cigna), dental (Lincoln), vision (Lincoln) and life insurance plans. </li></ul> <p>Additional Notes</p> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>180 days per year - August through May/June </li></ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT</p> <p>Mental Demands: frequently changes priorities quickly; ability to manage stress with multiple</p> <p>interruptions and distractions; analyzing; organizing; evaluating; planning; ability to redefine and</p> <p>clarify instructions; frequent presenting</p> <p>Physical Demands: ability to operate standard office equipment, keyboards, and</p> <p>subject-specific equipment; combination of sedentary and non-sedentary duties; manual</p> <p>dexterity including fine manipulation for writing and typing; prolonged periods sitting at a desk</p> <p>and working on a computer or standing to teach; close visual acuity; frequent walking;</p> <p>occasional bending, bending, stooping, and standing; occasionally lifting and carrying 5-15</p> <p>pounds; ability to read and write; ability to speak and understand the English language</p> <p>Environmental Conditions: primarily indoor work in an educational setting; minimal exposure</p> <p>to weather conditions; working primarily independently; occasional field trips; occasional evening events</p> <p>How to Apply</p> <p>Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position has been filled.
