An equivalent combination of education or experience may be considered.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications Job Description Summary</p> <p>The University of South Alabama's department of Admissions is seeking to hire an Academic Records Specialist. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <p>These are the job duties required of the position.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Creates and processes all new and returning student academic records. </li><li>Researches student academic records to determine accurate student status. </li><li>Creates, enters, and updates new and returning student academic records in the CRM (SLATE) and Banner. </li><li>Ensures accuracy of information between Banner and SLATE in regards to academic records. </li><li>Processes transcripts, test scores, and other documentation received via mail or electronically and inputs into student academic records. </li><li>Compiles weekly statistical reports on academic records created and processed. </li><li>Researches accrediting status of students prior colleges. </li><li>Determines initial residency status at the time of application. </li><li>Images, uploads, indexes, and verifies student records for electronic storage. </li><li>Determines academic status on new and returning student records. </li><li>Works closely with all areas of admissions understanding the basic admission requirements for each student type. </li><li>Corresponds with students via phone, email, and in person about status of academic file. </li><li>Ensures duplicates are not created by searching student information system and the CRM. </li><li>Determines if application fee payments or complete change of entry term forms are needed. </li><li>Answers telephone and assists the public in a professional and articulate manner. </li><li>Ensures each student has an activated communication plan. </li><li>Accurately maintains student academic records. </li><li>Supervises student assistants to include assigning duties and checking work. </li><li>Regular and prompt attendance. </li><li>Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required. </li><li>Related duties as required. </li></ul> <p>Posting Information</p> <p>Number of Vacancies 1 Position End Date (if temporary) Job Open Date 05/03/2025 Job Close Date Open Until Filled Yes Special Instructions to Applicants Working Days Monday - Friday Working Hours 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Job Location Main Campus Full-time or Part-Time Full Time Regular or Temporary Regular</p>
