Evening Shift - 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM# Night Shift - 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM New to Central Supply?# That#s OK!# We will hire you at $18.68/hour and when you receive your Central Sterile Processing certificate, we will raise you to $21.55/hour. Don#t forget we offer shift differential, too! Will I Get Training?# Yes, our on-the-job training program will last about 3 months#and#occurs during the day shift. Once you are through training, we begin scheduling you for the shift that you were hired for (evenings or nights). Summary of Position: Central supply technicians are a key member of the sterile materials team. They use special devices to sterilize instruments and other materials. Central supply technicians assume responsibility for reprocessing and delivery of re-usable instruments, sets, and linen packs. They are responsible for ensuring adequate sterile supply levels are maintained in the operating room and other units. Primary Job Responsibilities: Sterilization: Operates sterilizing equipment on a daily basis. Reprocesses all re-usable instruments (decontamination, set identification, preparation, sterilization) with load control numbers on the item. Organization: Assembles instrument trays according to computerized instrument count sheets; provides missing list when instruments are missing. Organizes surgical instrument trays. Completes stocking and inventory. Time Management: Follows instructions accurately, organizes multiple tasks, and establishes day-to-day priorities. Safety: Follow universal precautions while working in the decontamination room. Communication: Verifies with Operating Room staff that proper instruments, sets and equipment are on-hand and working properly. Provides information accurately and completely. Identifies service-related problems and suggests ways to improve quality and productivity. Records all instruments processed in daily logs, and files according to procedure. Teamwork: Ensures that all areas are clean, organized and ready for the next shift. Equipment Maintenance: Assists in cleaning and inspecting floor equipment. Monitors and documents results of biological/bowie-dick testing, temperature and time cycles and reports malfunctions. Cleans and monitors all necessary equipment. Minimum Qualifications: High school graduate or GED. Previous work experience in Central Sterile Supply preferred. Certified Central Service Technician through a national accredited agency or must obtain this certification within 18 months of date of hire.
