<p>The Director of Student Success oversees and directs student services programs to ensure the success and safety of students in enrollment, advising, financial aid, and career planning. The Director also implements, adapts, and advances college initiatives, protocols, and practices that support the region in collaboration with the Division of Student Success.</p> <p>This position has been identified as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) in accordance with Department of Education guidelines. As a CSA, the incumbent is required to report crimes that they become aware of to the Department of Public Safety and must attend related annual training.</p> <p>In accordance with Colorado Revised Statutes 24-50-135, this position has been exempted from the State Personnel System.</p> <p>Review of applications begins immediately and closes at 5pm (Mountain) on January 14, 2026. </p> <p>Salary range for this position is $ 78,200 to $125.120. The starting salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, and certifications as compared to others doing substantially similar work. While all offers are compliant with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, there is no guarantee that an offer will be above the lower range value.</p> <p>PERA retirees are not eligible to fill this position except on an interim basis and only in accordance with PERA work provisions.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions</p> <ul> <li>Provides strategic leadership for Student Services across the Southwest region, setting goals, priorities, and long-range plans aligned with institutional mission and regional needs. </li><li>Ensures consistent, equitable, and data-informed delivery of student services by evaluating initiatives, adapting operations for a geographically dispersed region, and implementing improvements that strengthen access, retention, and success. </li><li>Collaborates with college leadership to execute regional service strategies, aligning resources, logistics, and innovative practices to meet emerging student and community needs efficiently and effectively. </li><li>Oversees the delivery and continuous improvement of advising, enrollment, registration, financial aid support, onboarding, and student coaching to ensure high-quality, compliant services. </li><li>Leads retention, completion, and transfer efforts by ensuring staff apply current program, transfer, and labor-market information in student advising. </li><li>Directs specialized student support-including Tribal scholarships, veteran services, and regional career/education resources-and ensures students receive accurate guidance on programs and financial options. </li><li>Provides strategic oversight for student engagement initiatives, including orientation, graduation, student activities, and other campus events. </li><li>Oversees Associated Student Government (ASG) operations, ensuring alignment with institutional policies and student leadership development goals. </li><li>Approves new student organizations, oversees advisor training, and ensures student-led events, speakers, and activities meet college guidelines and support a healthy campus climate. </li><li>Cultivates and sustains high-level relationships with school districts, tribal nations, community agencies, and regional employers to support workforce development, career exploration, and student opportunities. </li><li>Provides leadership in promoting the branch campus within the 6,500-square-mile service area, strengthening awareness of programs, student pathways, and institutional resources. </li><li>Aligns regional recruitment and outreach efforts with institutional enrollment strategy, ensuring seamless communication and coordination between recruitment, advising, and admissions. </li><li>Leads collaboration with main campus offices (Admissions & Records, Financial Aid, Registrar, Veterans Services, Student Conduct, Concurrent Enrollment) to ensure consistent processes and responsive support for Southwest students. </li><li>Serves as a member of the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT), providing leadership in student conduct, crisis response, and case management coordination. </li><li>Coordinates with the Title IX Coordinator on complaint procedures and investigations. </li><li>Provides leadership and supervision for professional, classified, hourly, and student employees, including hiring, performance planning and evaluation, coaching, and conflict resolution. </li><li>Builds and supports a collaborative, student-centered team by ensuring staff are trained, equipped, and aligned to deliver high-quality services across all locations. </li><li>Ensures events are following PCC processes and are scheduled and communicated to have the best impact and meet the needs of the students and the region. </li></ul> <p>Additional Functions</p> <ul> <li>Works independently with little supervision or as part of a team. </li><li>Communicates effectively with students, colleagues, and others. </li><li>Interacts professionally and respectfully with students, colleagues, and others. </li><li>Assesses individual and department work processes and recommends improvements. </li><li>Complies with System and College protocols and departmental procedures. </li><li>Obtains and maintains proficiency with required systems and equipment. </li><li>Maintains confidentiality of student and employee information as required. </li><li>Completes all required compliance training within the established timeline. </li><li>Serves on committees and other groups as assigned. </li></ul> <p>This list of functions is not exhaustive, and other functions may be added at the discretion of Pueblo Community College or the employee's supervisor. Permanently added tasks are evaluated by Human Resources for potential position reclassification and compensation adjustment.</p> <p>PCC offers job function modifications consistent with providing reasonable accommodation when requested from Human Resources.</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>At least 5 years of experience in higher education, preferably in student advising, student services, or similar. </li><li>Experience with culturally diverse employees and students </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of current laws and best practices related to FERPA, ADA, Title IX, and other application regulations. </li><li>Knowledge of best practices in advising, career paths, student leadership and code of conduct. </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office; working knowledge of student information systems (Navigate, Banner, Recruit) a plus. </li><li>Able to lift 15 pounds </li><li>Able to read and communicate in English </li><li>Mobility around campus </li></ul> <p>Travel</p> <ul> <li>Within the Southwest service area </li><li>Infrequent travel to the Pueblo campus </li><li>Conferences in or out of state. </li></ul> <p>Schedule</p> <ul> <li>State operating hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm </li><li>Infrequent evening or weekend hours are required. </li></ul>
