This is the 8th time Sunrise has received this top culture and workplace designation, highlighting the special place Sunrise is to be a part of.</p> <p>COMMUNITY NAME</p> <p>Community Support Office</p> <p>Job ID</p> <p>2026-239313</p> <p>JOB OVERVIEW</p> <p>The Senior Accountant will work with a team of professionals, including WNS personnel, responsible for recording journal entries and other financial reporting activities for Sunrise. Organizes monthly reviews of prepaids and key expense accounts, prepares journal entries to be booked by WNS personnel, oversees recordation of journal entries, and approves journal entries independently prepared by WNS personnel. Ensures completion of all prepaid amortizations and national vendor accruals each month. Responsibilities include overseeing preparation, completion, and approval of journal entries related to Shared Service programs, prepaids, national vendors, legal, and other entries as needed. Assists with analysis, true-up, and reconciliation of accounts and with annual audit testing.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>As a part of the Sunrise team, supporting our Mission, Principles of Service and Core Values, is a fundamental part of this job. The unique responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the essential functions listed below:</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Performs general accounting activities, including the reconciliation and review of ledger accounts for prepaids, Shared Service programs, national vendor expense, legal expense, bonuses, and others as needed. </li><li>Organizes and prepares journal entries to be recorded by WNS, including prepaid amortizations, national vendor accruals, and legal expense accruals and reclasses. Assists with resolution of errors for any entries. </li><li>Coordinates contact with Sunrise teams as needed to obtain information or coding for monthly entries and reviews. </li><li>Reviews prepaid amortizations recorded, ensuring completeness and accuracy of all prepaid amortization entries for the month. </li><li>Trains, supervises, and reviews work prepared by WNS personnel including journal entries and account reconciliations. </li><li>Monitor Shared Service programs, reviewing monthly entries recorded, calculating cap adjustments, and assisting with budget review and true-ups. </li><li>Oversees recordation of journal entries for Sunrise sales bonus programs, including monthly accruals and reclasses, tracking of payments for winners, preparing adjustments and true-ups as necessary. </li><li>Manages Sunrise month-end legal accrual process and monthly review of corporate legal expense. Prepares reclass and accrual journal entries and reviews legal accrual account reconciliation. Maintains relationship with internal Legal Department and assists with invoice coding inquiries for legal matters. </li><li>Assists Corporate Accounting Manager with audit requests for assigned accounts. </li><li>Partners with other functional groups including all other accounting areas, accounts payable, payroll, resident billing, human resources, sales and marketing, financial systems, and legal to address accrual and other account inquiries. </li><li>Directs, motivates and develops staff team, maximizing their individual contribution, professional growth and their ability to build and sustain a team culture of efficiency and quality. </li></ul> <p>Experience and Qualifications:</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed throughout this job description are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably Accounting, Information Systems, or Data Analytics related. </li><li>Minimum of three (3) years of reporting related experience either in a financial reporting or FP&A role. </li><li>Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) is required. </li><li>Significant experience working with large datasets and expert knowledge of various data analysis software packages and tools (e.g., MS-Excel, SAS, Hyperion, Peoplesoft ERP) is required. </li><li>CPA / CPA candidates are preferred </li></ul> <p>ABOUT SUNRISE</p> <p>Ready to take the next step and make a bigger impact than you ever imagined?
