<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Paraprofessional/Special Education Paraprofessional</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>8/25/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>GOALS</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>Until Filled</p> <p>District:</p> <p>  Plymouth-Canton Community Schools  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>PLACEMENT: Special Education</p> <p>PRIMARY ASSIGNMENT: Post Secondary Paraprofessional for CI Program</p> <p>LOCATION: GOALS - Secondary Program, students aged 18-26</p> <p>HOURS: 35 hours weekly</p> <p>Monday - Friday</p> <p>8:00am - 3:30pm</p> <p>JOB GOAL:</p> <p>Provide support within a center-based classroom for students with disabilities, including implementation of instructional program, assistive technology, physical needs, behavior management, toileting, prevocational/vocational, work based, and supervision duties.</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>High school graduate or equivalent. </li><li>Demonstrate ability to work with parents, students and support personnel. </li><li>Good communication skills. </li><li>Good attendance record. </li><li>Good organization skills. </li><li>Ability to be self-directed. </li><li>Ability to engage in problem identification and solving. </li><li>Ability to maintain good rapport with staff/parents/students. </li><li>Previous experience as a one-on-one paraprofessional preferred. </li><li>Experience working with children with health impairments preferred. </li></ul> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Works in collaboration with special education staff to support the classroom students or individual students with disabilities. </li><li>Functions under the guidance of special education teacher, and supports students' accommodations and modifications per their IEPs. </li><li>Supports students with specific plans developed by the special education professional team. </li><li>Assists the special education classroom teacher and support personnel in the implementation of health care, behavior, and instructional programming. </li><li>Manages both behavioral and instructional logs. Maintains and implements data collection systems. </li><li>Supports established goals and objectives for students. </li><li>When applicable, operates equipment used in the special education program for the production of printed or other audio-visual instructional materials. </li><li>Supervise students in the lunchroom, halls, during community-based instructions, and at work-based learning sites. </li><li>Provides support in the areas of behavior, medical, daily living, and functional work-based skills (i.e. toileting). </li><li>Collaborate with and communicate effectively with work-based learning site staff. </li><li>Bending, lifting, and overhead work required. </li><li>Provides clinic/first aid/medication support to students. </li><li>May be assigned other tasks and duties within the special education classifications at the discretion of the building principal based on daily needs. </li><li>Assists and performs other tasks and duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>This description is intended to describe the essential job functions, the general supplemental functions and the essential requirements for the performance of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear and sometimes walk and sit. Occasionally the employee will bend or twist at the neck more than the average person. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs such as boxes of books. The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, or work output of other people.
