<p>Title: NSU00759 - HVAC Technician II</p> <p>State Role Title: Trades Technician II</p> <p>Hiring Range: $47,000-$50,000</p> <p>Pay Band: 2</p> <p>Agency: Norfolk State University</p> <p>Location: Norfolk State University</p> <p>Agency Website: www.nsu.edu</p> <p>Recruitment Type: General Public - G</p> <p>Job Duties</p> <p>Essential functions include but are not limited to:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Inform HVAC Supervisor of large repairs needed and in preparation of the bids for acquiring HVAC contractors to accomplish such repairs.</p> </li><li> <p>Analyzes, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs HVAC systems including chiller (all types), condensers, cooling towers, water treatment, compressors, pneumatic and digital controls, not and chilled water distribution and various types of natural gas and oil fired boilers.</p> </li><li> <p>Test efficiency of systems with instruments and makes adjustments and makes adjustments to thermostatic controls and blowers.</p> </li></ol> <p>Inspects and operates HVAC units and machinery to determine that all are functioning properly.</p> <ol start="4"> <li> <p>Read and interpret diagrams, sketches and job specifications related to air conditioning and refrigeration systems, and apply information from technical literature.</p> </li><li> <p>Use Facilities Work Management computerized system (TMA) to process work-orders.</p> </li><li> <p>Prioritize projects and meet deadlines.</p> </li><li> <p>Skill in use and operation of test and diagnostic HVAC equipment.</p> </li></ol> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ol> <li> <p>Demonstrated experience with various HVAC operational duties to include installation of systems and components.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to monitor and maintain quality HVAC controls standards.</p> </li><li> <p>EPA 608 Certification - Type II & III (Refrigerant Recovery/Recycling)</p> </li></ol> <p>Additional Considerations</p> <p>Journeyman HVAC license.</p> <p>Special Instructions</p> <p>You will be provided a confirmation of receipt when your application and/or résumé is submitted successfully.
