<p>Craft and Technical Solutions is an established Marine and Industrial Staffing Company with offices all over the country. We partner with businesses as well as jobseekers to place individuals into positions efficiently. We are currently in need of a Director of Payroll to join our team in Spanish Fort, Alabama.</p> <p>The Director of Payroll oversees payroll operations across the entire portfolio of companies, ensuring consistency and standardization across all Operating Companies (OPCOs). This role is responsible for managing organization-wide payroll and timekeeping processes, coordinating with personnel at each OPCO, leading the implementation of payroll and timekeeping systems, and developing audit procedures to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with legal requirements.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Administers, maintains, and evaluates payroll processing systems to ensure the timely and accurate execution of all payroll-related transactions, including wages, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. </li><li>Processes payroll updates efficiently, including new hires, terminations, and pay rate adjustments. </li><li>Maintains accurate, up-to-date payroll records and generates reports as required. </li><li>Ensures full compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour regulations, adhering to industry best practices. </li><li>Supports both external and internal audits by providing necessary documentation and conducting internal reviews, with findings clearly documented. </li><li>Identifies opportunities for improvement in payroll software, systems, and procedures, and recommends enhancements. </li><li>Generates payroll and expense reports as requested. </li><li>Investigates and resolves payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies across all Operating Companies in a timely and professional manner. </li><li>Develops and updates payroll policies and procedures to reflect current laws and industry standards. </li><li>Oversees relationships with payroll service providers, ensuring performance aligns with organizational expectations. </li><li>Performs additional responsibilities as assigned. </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY</p> <ul> <li>Oversees all personnel involved in payroll processing and timekeeping across Armada and its Operating Companies (OpCos). </li><li>Leads recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of new payroll and timekeeping staff at all OpCos. </li><li>Manages day-to-day departmental operations across all OpCos to ensure efficient and consistent workflow. </li><li>Delivers training and ongoing support to payroll and timekeeping staff across the organization. </li><li>Conducts performance evaluations and provides input on promotions, salary adjustments, and professional development. </li><li>Addresses disciplinary matters and participates in employee terminations in alignment with company policies and procedures. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & ATTRIBUTES</p> <ul> <li>In-depth expertise in all aspects of payroll operations, including payroll preparation, reconciliation, internal controls, tax compliance, and multi-state regulations. </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and professionally. </li><li>Exceptional organizational abilities with keen attention to detail and accuracy. </li><li>Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues. </li><li>Demonstrates high levels of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling sensitive information. </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related business software. </li><li>Effective leadership and team management skills, with experience guiding cross-functional teams. </li><li>Skilled in using payroll systems and platforms with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and compliance </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field </li><li>5+ Years experience in payroll processing required with 3+ years in a supervisory or management role preferred. </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>Work is conducted indoors in an office environment </li><li>Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk; must be able to view computer screen for prolonged periods of time; must be able to enter data using keyboard accurately and efficiently </li><li>Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. infrequently </li><li>May be required to climb stairs or ladders </li></ul> <p>Apply Now</p> <p>Apply Now</p> <p>Share via Email</p> <p>Location</p> <p>Spanish Fort, al</p> <p>Type</p> <p>Full-time</p> <p>Posted Date</p> <p>April 24, 2025</p> <p>Compensation</p> <p>$125,000 -</p> <p>Don't Miss Out</p> <p>Sign up to be notified of new jobs that match this search.</p> <p>Email</p> <p>Name</p> <p>This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.</p> <p>Get Notified</p> <p>?</p>
