<p>Inspire Future Medical Coding & Billing Professionals-One Student at a Time</p> <p>Under the direction of the Medical Billing and Coding Program Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in shaping the skills and confidence of students preparing for a career in healthcare administration. As a Medical Coding & Billing Instructor, you will guide learners through key topics, including:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Medical billing and reimbursement</p> </li><li> <p>ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems</p> </li><li> <p>Front office etiquette</p> </li><li> <p>Electronic medical record documentation procedures</p> </li></ul> <p>Whether teaching in person or virtually, you will help each student-one at a time-build a solid understanding of industry coding guidelines and standards, ensuring they are prepared to thrive in the field. Your dedication will not only enhance their technical knowledge but also inspire professionalism, accuracy, and a passion for quality patient care.</p> <ol> <li> <p>Provide students with technical instruction in a safe, clean, and productive learning environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Meet programmatic and accrediting body goals for student completion, placement, and licensure.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain student records to include verification of competency, assignment, and testing completion.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist students with job placement and applicable industry or state certifications/licenses in support of meeting placement and licensure/certification goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Contribute to the retention of students enrolled in College courses.</p> </li><li> <p>Exemplify, motivate, and advise students in the areas of program and college expectations and appropriate work behavior and dress standards. Assist counselors, supervisor, and other staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student success.</p> </li><li> <p>Complete ongoing professional development to increase technical expertise and instructional skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Interact in a positive and professional manner with students, coworkers, and college partners seeking win-win solutions.</p> </li><li> <p>Complete assignments within established timelines in preparation for occupational advisory committee meetings, college team meetings, and programmatic accreditation.</p> </li><li> <p>Work cooperatively within the college community. Actively serve on college teams as assigned and participate in programmatic and college-wide marketing activities.</p> </li><li> <p>The incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned.Education and Experience Requirements:</p> </li><li> <p>Must have a minimum of four (4) years of documented work experience in both medical coding, medical billing, and front office duties.</p> </li><li> <p>Must possess a current Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) credential, or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credential from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).</p> </li><li> <p>Preference given to individuals with a degree in Health Information Technology, Health Information Management, or related field.</p> </li><li> <p>Preference given to individuals with teaching experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient in using computers, computer technology, and computer software related to position.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrate ability to work with individuals of all racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.</p> </li><li> <p>Spanish speaking proficiency desirable.</p> </li></ol> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.</p> </li><li> <p>Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.</p> </li></ol> <p>Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm</p> <p>CONDITIONAL OFFER: </p> <p>A conditional offer of employment will be made pending satisfactory completion of a background investigation.</p> <p>We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and qualified applicants from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.</p> <p>AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER</p>
