<p>Now Hiring a Service Mechanic-Plant Services</p> <p>Full-time 330pm-1130pm</p> <ul> <li>$5,000 Sign On Bonus* </li></ul> <p>Summary:</p> <p>Maintains all Plant Services operating systems to include steam, electricity, air, heat, cooling, water, vacuum, medical gases, etc. Provides emergency alternatives for the above in the event of failures. Responds to any and all Facility issues that may arise anywhere in the hospital.</p> <p>Required License:</p> <ul> <li>OE-2, or S1, or S2. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Ensures patient comfort and safety by reducing impact of basic service interruptions.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures staff and visitor comfort & safety.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures equipment is operating efficiently, and safely. By both rounding of mechanical rooms and monitoring equipment through the building management system (BMS).</p> </li><li> <p>Performs boiler water analysis and treatment.</p> </li><li> <p>Corrects and reports hazardous conditions noted on rounds. Monitors boiler pressures, tank levels, various leaks etc. Responds to Code Reds.</p> </li><li> <p>Reports and logs all defective equipment, particularly if it pertains to safety.</p> </li><li> <p>Repairs equipment, including patient items, during off shifts.</p> </li><li> <p>Makes routine rounds (nightly) to all equipment rooms and machine spaces.</p> </li><li> <p>Answers all calls from the facilities dispatcher and responds to all computer alarms.</p> </li><li> <p>Responds to elevator problems.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs preventive maintenance on air handling equipment.</p> </li></ol> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>7 years of experience working in a hospital or industrial environment. </li><li>Experience in operating air handling units, heating systems, cooling systems, boilers, chillers, and refrigeration equipment. </li><li>Experience in performing preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment to include filter changes, greasing bearings on pumps and motors etc. </li></ul> <p>Required Education:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma </li></ul> <p>License: Required OE-2, or S1, or S2.</p> <p>Location: Danbury-24 Hospital Ave</p> <p>Work Type: Full-Time</p> <p>Standard Hours: 40.00</p> <p>FTE: 1.000000</p> <p>Work Schedule: Evening 8</p> <p>Work Shift: 330pm-1130pm, two weekends per month</p> <p>Org Unit: 247</p> <p>Department: Plant Services</p> <p>Exempt: No</p> <p>Grade: S8</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>Essential:</p> <ul> <li>HS Graduate or Equivalent </li></ul> <p>Working conditions:</p> <p>Essential:</p> <ul> <li>Significant manual skills / motor coord & finger dexterity </li><li>Significant occupational risk </li><li>Very Heavy effort.
