<p>Job Title: Cross-Coverage Nurse Practitioner</p> <p>General Responsibilities:</p> <p>The Cross-Coverage Nurse Practitioner (NP) is embedded in the primary care practice to provide a mix of primary care and clinical administrative cross-coverage. Part of the Cross-Coverage NP's time is spent providing face-to-face primary care for a panel of patients. The Cross-Coverage NP is a licensed, autonomous NP executing professional clinical judgment in the care of their patients, according to the guidelines, policies and procedures set forth by the health center. The remainder of the Cross-Coverage NP's time is reserved for cross-covering the clinical administrative tasks of colleagues who are not in the office, such as reviewing and acting on documents, results, messages and phone encounters in the electronic health record.</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner</p> </li><li> <p>Three or more years of medical practice (post-graduate) in primary care practice specialty, with</p> </li></ol> <p>experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center preferred</p> <ol start="3"> <li>Full, unrestricted RI license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner </li></ol> <p>Physical Effort/Environment:</p> <p>Moderate physical activity: walking, standing, and stooping. Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens, respiratory diseases and other infectious diseases, and other biohazards material requiring universal standard precautions for medical practitioners. Manual dexterity needed for certain medical procedures. Clinical environment is an ambulatory care setting.</p> <p>Work Schedule Demands:</p> <p>Full time (40 plus) hours per week, unless part time status is agreed upon by administration. Work schedule will involve some evenings and weekends.</p> <p>Communication Skills:</p> <p>Exceptional oral and written skills needed. Proficient in medical terminology.</p> <p>Confidentiality of Information:</p> <p>Confidentiality of Information</p> <p>Full access to patient records, clinical reports and data, personnel records of medical NPs, general medical department budgets, financial reports and statistics.
