<p>JOB TITLE: Academic Coordinator (Literacy)</p> <p>CLASSIFICATION: Exempt</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Academics</p> <p>PAY GRADE: Certified Salary Schedule, $1000 bonus to all new to district employees</p> <p>LOCATION: District</p> <p>DATE REVISED: 2/20/26</p> <p>Primary Purpose</p> <p>Supports all district initiatives to ensure educational goals and objectives are met by planning, organizing, and executing academic programs, ensuring compliance with educational regulations, collaborating with faculty and staff, and assisting with curriculum development.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Education/Certification/Experience:</p> <p>Valid Arkansas teaching license Master's degree in Education or a related field 10+ years of experience in K-12 school settings, preferred Instructional coaching or mentoring experience, required</p> <p>Special Knowledge/Skills:</p> <p>Demonstrated leadership, management and data analysis skills Outstanding organizational skills to manage and coordinate academic schedules, meetings, and programs effectively Excellent leadership abilities to guide, motivate, and support academic staff and students Strong communication skills to relay information clearly and efficiently to students, faculty and parents Strong knowledge and understanding of academic standards, educational legislation, curriculum development, instructional design and assessment Proficient in using educational software and other technical tools for academic planning and coordination Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, administrators, and other educational staff members Exceptional interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships with students, faculty, and parents Ability to plan and implement lessons based on standards and the needs and abilities of students. Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of teachers, students, administrators, parents, and the general public</p> <p>MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:</p> <p>Curriculum Implementation:</p> <p>Collaborates with stakeholders to develop, implement, and evaluate curriculum, ensuring alignment with district goals and standards. Collaborate with departments and teachers to align curriculum goals with the school's mission and educational philosophy. Integrate technology, project-based learning, and other innovative instructional methods into the curriculum. Uses data to make decisions and adjustments to the curriculum program and instructional practices.</p> <p>Instructional Leadership:</p> <p>Provide instructional leadership to teachers by collaborating with building principals to discuss effective teaching practices. Regularly observe classroom instruction, offering constructive feedback to improve instructional quality.</p> <p>Professional Development:</p> <p>Coordinates professional development programs for teachers, support staff, and administrators to enhance instructional performance and student achievement. Design and implement professional development programs that align with instructional goals and curriculum updates. Organize workshops, training sessions, and conferences to equip teachers with modern pedagogical tools and knowledge.</p> <p>Assessment and Data Analysis:</p> <p>Oversee the development and administration of formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress and curriculum efficacy. Analyze assessment data to identify trends in student performance and areas needing Improvement. Work with collaborative teams to use data to tailor instruction to meet student needs and close achievement gaps.</p> <p>Program Evaluation and Improvement:</p> <p>Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of current instructional programs and recommend changes for continuous improvement. Collaborate with assistant superintendent to update curriculum and instructional goals based on student outcomes, feedback, and educational research. Ensure that the school's curriculum remains rigorous, relevant, and engaging. Supports the implementation of signature programs (International Baccalaureate, STEM, and College & Career Readiness).</p> <p>Student Support and Differentiated Instruction:</p> <p>Promote and support initiatives that foster inclusive practices and equitable learning opportunities for all students. Oversee interventions and support programs for students who are struggling academically or require additional support. Develops, supports, and monitors processes and programs to address the learning needs of all students.</p> <p>Collaboration with School Leadership</p> <p>Promote and support initiatives that foster inclusive practices and equitable learning opportunities for all students. Occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds such as books and teaching material.</p> <p>Environmental Demands:</p> <p>The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
