As an in-house substitute teacher, they are available daily to cover classroom teacher absences. When not assigned as a substitute, they serve as a rover instructional assistant, supporting various classrooms and staff across grade levels to meet instructional and supervision needs. Key Responsibilities: Substitute Teacher Duties: Provide classroom instruction in the absence of the regular teacher, following lesson plans and school procedures. Maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment. Communicate with students and staff professionally and effectively. Leave documentation and feedback for the regular teacher upon their return. Rover Instructional Assistant Duties: Assist teachers with classroom management, small group instruction, and individual student support. Support students with academic tasks, behavior plans, or accommodations as needed. Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch, or other non-instructional times. Provide coverage for paraprofessionals or aides during absences or breaks. Respond to short-term coverage needs across grade levels and classrooms. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred. Prior experience working in a school or educational setting strongly preferred. Ability to follow directions, adapt quickly, and work collaboratively with staff and students. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
