<p>Hurco Companies, Inc. has an opening for a Mechanical Design Engineer in Indianapolis. The Mechanical Design Engineer will focus on designing and developing mechanical components and systems for advance CNC machinery and automation solutions.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Product design and detail drawings for new concepts and make modifications to existing designs </li><li>Create test plan and validate designs including thermal, vibration, and life cycle testing </li><li>Performs mechanical analysis and ensures designs meet functional and safety requirements </li><li>Resolves design and manufacturing issues using problem solving and decision analysis skills </li><li>Writes engineering documents that describe fabrication, assembly, testing, and inspection of products </li><li>Conducts market research to support design decisions and identify emerging trends </li><li>Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative designs and meet performance, quality, and cost objectives </li><li>Project management, Team Coordination, Scheduling, and Supplier Management </li></ul> <p>Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Technical knowledge - strength of materials, casting design, thermal dynamics, motion control systems, mechanical systems (pneumatic, hydraulic, etc.) </li><li>Ability to meet project deadlines while maintaining quality standards </li><li>Excellent communication skills and ability to interact in small and large group settings to accomplish goals </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field </li><li>Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, PLM) </li><li>3-5 years design engineering experience, preferably in industrial machinery or automation </li><li>Product and Supply Chain Management experience a plus </li><li>Familiarity with ISO standards and technical documentation a plus </li></ul>
