Posting Number 2016162T Department Summary</p> <p>The Director of Development serves as a major gift officer for Ohio University and designated colleges or units. This role is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors capable of making gifts of $25,000 or more. Through strategic outreach, travel, and personalized engagement, the Director builds strong relationships with alumni, parents, and friends to support the university's priorities.</p> <p>Working closely with academic leaders and advancement colleagues including Major Giving, Gift Planning, Annual Giving, and Corporate and Foundation Relations, the Director aligns donor interests with institutional goals and contributes to the university's fundraising success.</p> <p>The Director manages a portfolio of major gift prospects, creating and executing individualized strategies to move donors through the giving cycle. They contribute to annual fundraising goals, coordinate with internal partners on cultivation and stewardship efforts, and prepare tailored proposals in collaboration with faculty and academic leadership. Additionally, the Director supports alumni engagement by participating in strategic events and regional outreach, helping to identify and qualify new prospects while deepening existing donor relationships.</p> <p>More information about Ohio Advancement can be found at https://give.ohio.edu/advancement</p> <p>Position Profile</p> <p>Works collaboratively to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward principal gifts from critical, high profile prospects/donors that will enhance university-wide priorities. Designs and implements strategic fundraising plans through collaboration for academic units, regional campuses and complex markets. Manages constituency programs. Cultivates relationships with alumni, donors, foundations, and corporations to support the University's mission. Ensures the University has the resources necessary for growth and engages the community to advance its long-term goals.</p> <p>Level Summary</p> <p>Regularly serves as a technical leader, expert, or program manager for complex functions or initiatives that require deep subject-matter knowledge. Significantly impacts the department by directly contributing to its performance and success.</p> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities</p> <p>Provides leadership to projects or initiatives. Influences decision-making.</p> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>This role is primarily desk-based and involves extensive use of desktop computers. Occasionally, the job may require travel to attend meetings and programs.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 8 or more years of related professional experience, or equivalent education and experience.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications Department Asst VP For University Advancement Pay Rate</p> <p>The proposed salary range for this position is $68,299 to $92,205. The salary negotiated at the time of offer will be commensurate with education and experience while also considering internal equity.
