<p>Workweek</p> <p>Schedule dependent upon assigned classes. Salaries are dependent upon education and semesters taught at MCC per the MCC Adjunct Faculty Agreement 24/25.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>MCC instructors are higher-education professionals who champion student learning. They engage and inspire students, applying innovative teaching and learning pedagogies in instruction. They assess student learning to ensure students success, staying abreast of trends in the discipline. Our instructors collaborate within the College as discipline experts, helping the College reach its strategic goals through active participation in college committees and by promoting the College to future students throughout our community.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities</p> <p>Including but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Teaching courses as assigned by the College </li><li>Available to teach daytime, evening, and weekend classes, as needed </li><li>Available for student conferences either before or after class, and by college email or special appointment if necessary </li><li>Participate with producing documentation relating to program accreditation standards to achieve and maintain accreditation </li><li>Work cooperatively within the department, the division, and throughout the College in striving for educational excellence </li><li>Keep appraised of external agency regulations and changes to regulations that directly impact a particular curriculum </li><li>Assess student learning and participate in assessment of the PTA program </li><li>Continue professional development in area of contemporary clinical expertise and in teaching/learning strategies </li><li>Maintain and submit accurate student and course-related paperwork and data needed for college and grant purposes in a timely fashion </li><li>Maintain and submit accurate attendance records. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Current licensure (or eligibility) in Illinois as a Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) </li><li>If a Physical Therapist Assistant, earned an associate degree from a regionally accredited institution </li><li>If a Physical Therapist, earned bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution </li><li>Minimum of two (2) years of full-time (35 hr./wk. or equivalent) post-licensure clinical experience in physical therapy </li><li>Current knowledge and skill in the use of information and computer technology (e.g., word processing, e-mail, database) or proven ability to learn these skills </li><li>Willingness to use educational technology (i.e. Canvas) </li><li>Knowledge of legislative, regulatory, legal and practice issues affect clinical education, students, and the profession of physical therapy </li><li>Contemporary expertise in assigned teaching areas (CAPTE 3C & 4D) </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to professional growth, especially regarding contemporary expertise specific to assigned teaching content </li><li>Commitment to the mission of the community college, and to teaching and motivating community college students in ways appropriate to their diverse backgrounds and learning styles </li><li>Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills </li></ul>
