We take pride in being an urban campus with a small town feel.</p> <p>Job Description: Do you want to serve the community, make a difference, build lifelong skills, gain hands-on experience, and get paid? Get all of this and more through the Empire State Service Corps.</p> <p>Students will be selected for 300 hours of paid community service work (10 hours per week during the academic year). You'll also attend monthly meetings to discuss your service/impact, share your experience and what you're learning, and get to know other members!</p> <p>Paid service assignments could include:</p> <p>Civic Engagement Corps: Students will serve either on or off campus with organizations such as local nonprofits related to civic engagement, including nonpartisan voter outreach, voter registration and engaging campus peers in voter activity Early Childhood Corps: Students will serve at a host site dedicated to early childhood education and/or development. (For example, daycare or head start centers) FAFSA Completion Corps: Students will serve either in local communities (local high schools) or work on campus to support students with completing the FAFSA. Food Insecurity and SNAP Basic Needs Outreach Corps: Students will serve on or off campus supporting students / individuals with SNAP outreach as well as basic needs support (could include shifts at campus food pantry) or with other Food Insecurity aligned work. K-12 Tutoring Corps: Students will partner with local school districts or related organizations for K-12 student tutoring sessions on a regular basis to support recovery from pandemic era learning loss and to support closing academic gaps. Peer Mental Health Corps: Students will be trained to serve as a peer mental health educator typically at a campus/community wellness or counseling center. Students will support peers either on or off campus in supporting strong mental health practices and overall wellness initiatives. Student Success Coaching Corps: Students will work with secondary education level students (MS or HS) to combat common challenges external to academics. For example, socio-emotional learning, combating chronic absenteeism, mentoring, mental health support, etc. Alternatively, this corps can also be aligned to other relevant on-campus offices or community-based sites that are non-education related to support students of all ages wholistically. This report consists of two basic parts: disclosure of the College's crime statistics for the past three years; and the availability regarding the College's current campus security policies.
