<p>Hiring Department</p> <p>Edgar L. & Rheta A. Berkley Child & Family Development Center in the School of Education, Social Work, and Psychological Sciences at the University of Missouri-Kansas City</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The UMKC Berkley Child and Family Development Center, located on the UMKC Volker campus, is seeking experienced part-time Child Development Aides with positive attitudes, strong problem-solving skills, and who are committed to providing the highest quality childcare. As a Child Development Aide, you will provide guidance and care and facilitate the development of children enrolled in The Berkley Child and Family Development Center.</p> <p>Duties include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Assist teachers in carrying out curriculum, care activities and routines </li><li>Interact with families on a daily basis </li><li>Assist teachers with paperwork as needed </li><li>Assist with classroom's general housekeeping </li><li>Participate in classroom decisions involving procedures and program as delegated by supervisors </li><li>Answering phone </li><li>Light clerical work (typing, filing, etc.) </li><li>Attend staff meetings </li><li>Participate in required in-service trainings as required by Missouri State Licensing </li><li>May regularly lift up to 50 pounds and perform actions such as pushing, pulling, bending </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Shift</p> <ul> <li>Part-time staff must be available to work until 12:00pm to 6:00pm at least 3 days a week </li><li>Shifts can range from all day (8:00am to 5:00pm), to part day (12:00pm to 6:00pm) </li><li>Shifts may be flexible </li><li>Hours are not guaranteed </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>High school diploma or equivalent and some experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.</p> <p>Must be at least 18 years of age.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>At least 1 year experience in a child care environment </li><li>Attendance in child development classes </li><li>Child Development Associate (CDA) Certificate </li></ul> <p>Anticipated Hiring Range</p> <p>The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $15.00 per hour.</p> <p>Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.</p> <p>Grade: 3</p> <p>University Title: CHILD DEVELOPMENT AIDE</p> <p>To review the University of Missouri's Staff Compensation Structure you can view the Job Code detail page.
