It includes Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 249-bed community hospital, Rockville General, a campus of Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 102-bed facility, a large multispecialty provider group and visiting nurse services. The Greater Manchester Region serves a region of 300,000 people in 19 towns.</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>Performs applied techniques for various chemical, microscopic, immunologic and/or microbiological tests to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Works with a focus in specialty areas of the Laboratory, such as Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry, Serology and/or Microbiology. Receives and/or obtains specimens for laboratory analysis. Uses considerable judgment in making decisions requiring the interpretation and application of guidelines with considerable latitude to specific work situations. Records laboratory test results. Performs training activities and special projects. Takes responsibility for ordering and assigning testing for CAP surveys.</p> <ul> <li>A Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology </li><li>American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) certification as a Medical Technologist or ASCP Categorical Certification specific for laboratory section employed in (H, C, M, BB) or eligible required. </li><li>Must provide education transcript prior to start of employment. </li><li>At least one (1) year of clinical laboratory experience is preferred. </li><li>Phlebotomy experience is preferred. </li><li>Must be knowledgeable in laboratory automation and information systems. </li><li>Must have access to reliable transportation to travel between multiple work sites; and travel is required in order to perform essential duties. </li></ul> <p>We take great care of careers.</p> <p>With locations around the state, Hartford HealthCare offers exciting opportunities for career development and growth.
