<p>Description</p> <p>The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Prince George's County Department of Parks and Recreation, Northern Recreation and Leisure Services Division is seeking a Recreation Community Supervisor.</p> <p>Examples of Important Duties</p> <ul> <li>Manages, plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates recreation programs and events (i.e. large festivals, town celebrations, summer camps and playgrounds) in schools, parks, community centers, and other facilities in the region. </li><li>Oversees facilities within the Region. Establishes, recommends and monitors operating procedures (i.e. hours, building maintenance and repairs) for the Region. </li><li>Supervises full-time (career), intermittent, volunteer and contracted employees. Recruits, interviews, selects and trains staff. </li><li>Conducts performance appraisals. Counsels and disciplines employees. </li><li>Community Relations. Meet with citizens, community groups, park and recreation councils, Board of Education staff, professional organizations, and local government representatives to identify needs, plan programs, solve problems, and answer questions. </li><li>Monitors and reviews fiscal requirements. Controls expenditures within approved budget for the facilities in the Region. Initiates purchase requisitions and check requests. </li><li>Conducts scheduled and unscheduled facility audits for asset inventory, cash handling procedures and facility cleanliness and maintenance. </li><li>Plans, schedules, and assigns work. Approves timecards and leave requests for career and seasonal staff. </li><li>Leads or serves on divisional and departmental committees by directing, the committee, actively participating, sharing ideas and recommendations. </li></ul> <p>The anticipated salary range for this position is $73,523.00 TO $103,068.00</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Parks and Recreation, Recreation Management, Sports Management, Leisure Studies, Physical Education or any related field. </li><li>Four (4) years of recreational or related experience, including three years performing supervisory or program management duties. </li><li>An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted, which together total eight (8) years. </li><li>Valid driver's license in accordance with both State and Commission rules and regulations.
