Job Description and payrate will vary by position.</p> <p>Assistant Store Manager - The Salvation Army Thrift Store</p> <p>About The Salvation Army</p> <p>The Salvation Army is an international movement and part of the universal Christian church. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination Our thrift stores play a vital role in funding our Adult Rehabilitation Centers and providing affordable shopping options to our neighbors.</p> <p>Pay Rate: $17.50 -20/hr.</p> <p>Status: Full Time, 40 Hours per Week</p> <p>Position Overview</p> <p>Join our team in "Doing the Most Good" as an Assistant Store Manager. In this support leadership role, you'll assist the Store Manager in all day-to-day operations, including staff supervision, production, sales, store maintenance, customer development, banking, and record keeping procedures. This full-time position offers a comprehensive benefits package and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in your community.</p> <p>Essential Responsibilities</p> <p>Leadership & Operations</p> <ul> <li>Support staff training and supervision as assigned </li><li>Implement strategies to meet production and sales goals </li><li>Assist manager with store maintenance and appearance, ensuring safety, security, cleanliness, and utility </li><li>Ensure compliance with OSHA and Salvation Army safety/security policies </li><li>Work with store manager to keep income and expenses within budgeted parameters </li><li>Protect resources through product control procedures to prevent shrinkage </li></ul> <p>Customer & Community Relations</p> <ul> <li>Implement customer development and retention plans </li><li>Create an enjoyable shopping experience </li><li>Work proactively to improve The Salvation Army's image among staff and community </li><li>Support The Salvation Army's mission statement </li></ul> <p>Administrative</p> <ul> <li>Support banking and record-keeping procedures </li><li>Document and provide information for personnel reviews and corrective actions </li><li>Communicate with Store Manager regarding all aspects of store operations </li><li>Handle all other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent </li><li>2 years retail experience (thrift experience a plus) </li><li>Valid Driver's License </li><li>Strong English communication skills </li><li>Basic computer proficiency including POS systems </li><li>Ability to pass pre-employment background check </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Regular standing, walking, and manual dexterity </li><li>Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly </li><li>Occasional lifting up to 100 pounds </li><li>Capability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch as needed </li><li>Clear vision (close and distance) with ability to adjust focus </li></ul> <p>Schedule Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Flexibility to work early shifts, late shifts, and most weekends </li><li>Available for occasional travel to various locations for work or training </li></ul> <p>Working Environment</p> <ul> <li>Store environment with quiet to moderate noise level </li><li>May experience temperature fluctuations based on weather </li><li>Some exposure to dust </li></ul> <p>The Salvation Army is an equal opportunity employer.
