<p>This is a 7 hours per day, 180 days per year, Paraeducator - Behavior Support Specialist position with benefits at Serene Lake Elementary School. Anticipated start date is as soon as possible.</p> <p>Hours for this position are 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.</p> <p>The successful candidate will provide behavior support across campus, providing intervention and direct instruction as needed. Utilize curriculum used on campus such as Zones of Regulation. This role is a part of the school's Behavior Support Team, and the candidate should be willing to participate in required training and staff professional development that aligns with their responsibilities in supporting students.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting students who exhibit challenging behaviors.</p> <p>JOB TITLE: Paraeducator - Behavior Support Specialist</p> <p>JOB CLASSIFICATION: Paraeducator - MESP</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Principal</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>Assist students who are exhibiting behavior and social emotional actions that are impacting academic achievement in order to provide proactive behavior supports that refocuses the student. Assist the teacher with designing, planning, and delivering lessons and activities that increase positive behavior in the classroom and around the school premises. Supervise students at recess, in the cafeteria, and in the library.</p> <p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Assist teacher(s) with the daily supervision of students for the purpose of maintaining and providing a safe and positive learning environment. </li><li>Under the teacher's direction, collect student behavioral data and collaborate with teacher on designing behavior goals.
