<p>This is responsible clerical and public contact work in receiving and processing customer related transactions involving services in the City's Sanitation Department. Work involves interaction with the public in person, by mail, and by telephone; use of personal computer software applications; use of a utility work order software application; use of an Interactive Voice Telephone Response System; handling the resolution of customer complaints regarding services and billing; providing information regarding payment options; and the use of considerable tact, patience, and good judgment.</p> <p>Salary: $18.55 - $27.74 Hourly</p> <p>Close Date: 12-29-2025 (11:59 PM)</p> <p>To Qualify</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications. Applicants must:</p> <ul> <li>Possess a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency. </li><li>Have at least one (1) year of customer service call center or clerical customer service support experience in a business office environment with data entry responsibilities. </li><li>Possess good communication skills. </li><li>Possess at least six months of business experience encompassing contact with the public. </li><li>Be able to professionally interact with and assist the public with sanitation services and related needs. </li><li>Be able to resolve complicated customer issues. </li><li>Be proficient working with computers to quickly and accurately type and enter data using a Windows operating system, work order software, and electronic mail. </li></ul> <p>Desirable Qualifications. Preferred applicants:</p> <ul> <li>Have some knowledge of Sanitation operations. </li><li>Have considerable professional customer service experience competently interacting with internal and external customers on the telephone, in person and via email. </li><li>Are able to communicate professionally, clearly and concisely, orally and in writing. </li><li>Are able to consistently maintain a tactful and diplomatic approach to difficult situations and customers. </li><li>Have some experience working with a utility work order or billing software application. </li><li>Have some experience using Oracle Accounts Receivable software to create invoices and using HTE Naviline software to create work orders. </li></ul> <p>Selection Process</p> <p>IMPORTANT APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS</p> <p>For purposes of employment, re-employment, promotion, transfer or demotion, the most qualified applicants will be selected to continue in the hiring process.
