<p>Job Title: Technician</p> <p>Location: MMC Southern Campus</p> <p>Department Name: Endoscopy Room</p> <p>Req #: 0000226668</p> <p>Status: Hourly</p> <p>Shift: Day</p> <p>Pay Range: $30.68 - $30.68 per hour</p> <p>Pay Transparency:</p> <p>The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.</p> <p>The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.</p> <p>Job Overview:</p> <p>The Endoscopy Technician is a direct patient caregiver and assists the physician in the technical aspects of performing endoscopic procedures.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High School Graduate </li><li>Graduate of an endoscopic or surgical technician program OR </li><li>At least one year experience as an endo tech in a hospital or freestanding endoscopy center </li><li>Certification in flexible endoscope reprocessing is required when eligible. </li></ul> <p>Scheduling Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Day Shift </li><li>Per Diem Scheduling </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Accurately collects, labels, and delivers specimens as required </li><li>Answers the telephone promptly and courteously </li><li>Assist physician and RN during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. </li><li>Demonstrates knowledge of latex allergy and isolation precautions </li><li>Maintain certification for flexible endoscope reprocessing or be preparing for certification while waiting to become eligible for an exam. </li><li>Maintain procedure rooms and reprocessing room clean and adequately stocked </li><li>Provide and maintain a safe environment for staff and patient care by complying with regulatory requirements and standards </li><li>Provide direct patient care within his or her scope of practice under the direct supervision of the RN or the physician </li><li>Report all equipment problems to RN or Assistant Director. </li><li>Report patient complaints, problems and any untoward signs, symptoms or unusual occurrences immediately to the registered nurse. </li><li>Performs all other duties as assigned </li><li>Provides a compassionate and supportive environment with prompt and consistent service </li><li>Adheres to patient rights and provides for the confidential treatment of all communications and records. </li><li>Demonstrates professionalism with family visitors, physicians, co-workers and supervisors </li><li>Listens and communicates effectively </li><li>Supports teamwork by cooperative problem-solving through participation in meetings, projects etc </li><li>Utilizes principles of continuous quality improvement in all work situations to assess, measure and improve organizational and department functions </li><li>Organized work, sets priorities with a minimum of supervision and seeks guidance as appropriate. </li><li>Makes decisions that are timely and consistent with department objectives, policies and procedures. </li><li>Demonstrates sound judgment, accepts and benefits from constructive criticism </li><li>Participates in ongoing education as required. </li></ul> <p>RWJBarnabas Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer</p>
