<p>Intensive Elementary Special Education Teacher Reports to Building Principal Key Responsibilities: The Special Education Teacher in the specialized program provides targeted, high-impact instruction and support for students with significant academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. This role leads the design, implementation, and monitoring of individualized education plans (IEPs), working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver personalized interventions and create a structured, supportive classroom environment. Students in this program require intensive support due to behavioral challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, or developmental delays. The teacher utilizes evidence-based practices to foster student growth across academic, behavioral, and functional domains. This position follows the 180-day school calendar and includes full-year compensation, with participation in the Extended School Year (ESY) program when required. Develops, implements, and monitors individualized education programs (IEPs) in accordance with federal and state regulations. Designs and delivers specialized instruction aligned with students' individual learning profiles, using research-based strategies and data-driven decision making. Collaborates with BCBAs and behavior specialists to develop and oversee implementation of individualized behavior support plans (BSPs). Leads a team of instructional assistants, providing direction, modeling, and support to ensure consistent implementation of instructional and behavioral strategies. Facilitates the teaching of adaptive, communication, and social-emotional regulation skills. Collects, analyzes, and reports student progress data regularly to inform instruction and adjust interventions. Other Requirements: Demonstrated experience working with students with significant behavioral and emotional needs. Strong understanding of behavior intervention principles and experience implementing behavior support plans. Ability to lead and collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals and related service providers.
