These responsibilities include establishing a climate conducive to learning; defining roles and expectations for school staff; planning, coordinating and supervising all programs in the school and identifying needed modifications; and administering changes which result from local and state-wide decisions.</p> <p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:</p> <p>NOTE: A complete listing of the activities of the school principal is impossible because of the many facets of the job and the variations in needs from school-to-school. Some of the activities include:</p> <ul> <li>Lead and oversee all instructional programs, both curricular and extracurricular, ensuring alignment with school and district goals. </li><li>Collaborate with staff, families, community partners, and district administration to develop and implement effective educational strategies. </li><li>Provide instructional leadership and support the implementation of the Delaware Teacher Growth and Support System (DTGSS). </li><li>Promote leadership development among faculty and support staff. </li><li>Maintain and enforce a student behavior support system focused on restorative practices in line with district policies. </li><li>Guide the school's leadership teams in decision-making, program development, and community engagement. </li><li>Establish and uphold high academic and behavioral standards for students and staff. </li><li>Conduct formal teacher observations and provide timely, constructive feedback. </li><li>Lead staff in analyzing student performance data to develop interventions for low-performing students. </li><li>Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive school climate. </li><li>Allocate resources and prioritize activities to align with school goals and improve student outcomes. </li><li>Ensure continuous improvement in student achievement through data-driven decision making. </li><li>Support administrative staff in monitoring instructional practices and achievement data. </li><li>Oversee accurate and timely data reporting in compliance with district and state requirements. </li><li>Organize and implement professional development for instructional staff. </li><li>Work effectively with diverse students, staff, families, and community stakeholders, including district partner schools. </li><li>Lead staff meetings to discuss instructional strategies and student behavioral supports. </li><li>Utilize school and district support personnel efficiently to enhance educational services. </li><li>Collaborate in hiring and evaluating school staff in accordance with district guidelines. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the school and district. </li></ul> <p>The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the employee in this position.
