<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Beckman Center for Mental Health Services. The position is based at the Edgefield Mental Health Clinic, 200 Ridge Medical Plaza, Edgefield, SC and will provide services to both Edgefield and McCormick County Sheriff's Departments and other law enforcement entities within these two counties.</p> <p>The Office of Mental Health's mission is to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses. We provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.</p> <p>As the Law Enforcement Mental Health Professional, you will provide community-based clinical assessments and therapeutic services for children, adolescents, adults, and families who have interacted with local law enforcement agencies. You will provide services to children, adults, and families who have witnessed or experienced violence or trauma and will assess for other mental health needs. Minimal in-state travel and the ability to provide disaster response interventions locally and to deploy statewide as needed is required.</p> <p>Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional:</p> <ul> <li>Provide individual, family and group therapy with a trauma focused approach. Provide other treatment-related services and functions within a community policing model including the provision of collaborative follow-up practices, coordination of monthly interdisciplinary program conferences. </li><li>Perform assessment and crisis counseling in the community setting and arrange for appropriate dispositions for cases requiring a different level of care. Consult with the psychiatrist as necessary and participate in treatment team meetings and clinic staff meetings. </li><li>Serve as liaison with personnel of other agencies/resources to facilitate treatment and coordinated care of patients. Consult with law enforcement personnel, when deemed appropriate. Participate in train-the-trainer certification and provides training on adverse childhood experiences to stakeholders, law enforcement and community partners in accordance with grant requirements. Facilitate Crisis Intervention Training as requested. </li><li>Maintain, per established deadlines, documentation of all services in accordance with OMH Quality Management standards. Participate in peer audits as scheduled. Gather and submit outcome data in accordance with grant deliverables. </li><li>Comply with all applicable Quality Assurance, Corporate Compliance & Cultural Competence policies, procedures & regulations. Comply with HIPPA and all Federal and State laws. Attend all training classified as mandatory by Federal & State regulations. Engage in additional training to maintain professional development. </li></ul> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <ul> <li>A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field </li></ul> <p>Additional Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Two (2) year's post - master's experience. Must be licensed or eligible for licensure. </li><li>Must qualify for credentialing and privileging as a mental health professional and in accordance with Quality Assurance standards and with concurrence by OMH Office of Quality Management. </li><li>In order to be credentialed for core services as a Mental Health Professional at the SC Office of Mental Health, applicants must provide evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care. This experience may be documented as a practicum or internship during graduate program, or post-graduate clinical experience.
