<p>The University of Rio Grande and Rio Grande Community College is seeking a full-time Social Worker primarily for afternoons and evenings. Reporting to the Dean of Students, this position will be responsible for supporting the wellbeing of the Rio campus community by providing holistic services such as mental health response and counseling services, and prevention and awareness programming during afternoon and evening hours in order to promote positive mental health on campus. This position will also offer response assistance and support to campus police for non-violent after hours calls.</p> <p>The Social Worker Officer will be located in the Office of Student Life in Rhodes Student Center. This schedule and location will compliment the evening hours and programming for the Student Success Center during the academic year. Standard hours will be Monday - Thursday from 1PM to 10PM and Friday from 8AM to 5PM.</p> <p>Principal Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Provide crisis intervention for students as needed </li><li>Provide individual/group counseling and assessments for students </li><li>Implement case management plans for students receiving counseling services </li><li>Maintain accurate records and confidentiality </li><li>Serve as a member of the Behavioral Intervention and Threat Assessment Team </li><li>Assist in mental health programming on campus including, but not limited to; HopeFest, RU OK? Day, Therapy Dog International Visits, and develop additional evening programming for resident students </li><li>Refer students to appropriate on campus or off-campus resources/agencies </li><li>Assist Campus Police with non-violent occurrences involving members of campus </li><li>Collaborate with the Director of Mental Wellbeing to promote the mental health of campus </li><li>Serve as first responder for non-violent calls to Campus Police </li><li>Serve as 2nd shift resource for students concerns and interactions </li><li>Provide programming for students attending academic centers and those attending online </li></ul> <p>Position Qualificaitons:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in related field (Social Work); Master's Preferred (Social Work) </li><li>Current Ohio License (Licensed Social Worker) </li><li>Ability to complete Continuing Education and Training needed to maintain licensure </li><li>Experience providing counseling and crisis intervention </li><li>Be able to work 2nd Shift/Varying Schedule </li><li>Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint </li></ul> <p>Application Instructions:</p> <p>Please submit cover letter, resume, transcripts (unofficial accepted for application purposes), as well as the names and contact information of at least three professional references through the application portal.</p> <p>Review of applications will begin immediately.
