<p>Boston - VDC Manager</p> <p>Category</p> <p>Construction Operations</p> <p>Job Location</p> <p>11 Apex Drive, Suite 201A, Marlborough, Massachusetts</p> <p>Position Type</p> <p>Full-Time/Regular</p> <p>Please note:</p> <ul> <li>Applying for positions in multiple locations will result in a longer vetting process. </li><li>The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including the disabled and veterans. </li></ul> <p>Whiting-Turner is looking for a self-motivated, energetic, dynamic, confident, tech savvy individual who is passionate for creating virtual building efficiencies within the construction industry. #LI-KA1</p> <p>This individual will:</p> <ul> <li>Have on the job experience with BIM/VDC applications & processes. </li><li>Have extensive knowledge of construction & the built environment. </li><li>Lead the execution of the Virtual Building process. </li><li>Review and provide feedback on constructability of Design Intent models provided by design partners. </li><li>Manage and review fabrication building information models (BIMs) created by subcontractors to facilitate 3D coordination and Clash detection, shop drawing production and prefabrication. </li><li>Utilize the coordinated model to support field installation and As-built model delivery at project closeout. </li><li>Be proficient in reading construction drawings, understanding specifications and building codes, and other technical data. </li><li>Bring creativity and innovation to their projects & groups. Test new software & technologies and make recommendations on the use for project specific needs. </li><li>Manage subcontractors and run effective meetings. </li><li>Create 3D visualizations as necessary during project lifecycles. </li><li>Thrive in a team environment both contributing to larger projects and producing independent work. </li><li>Have an innately curious, forward-thinking personality to push innovative ideas in all aspects of daily tasks. </li><li>Be able to multi-task and deliver parallel successful products. </li></ul> <p>Software Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent General Computing Skills </li><li>Understand Cloud-based file sharing </li><li>Autodesk Navisworks Manage </li><li>Autodesk Revit </li><li>Sketchup </li><li>Exposure to one or more of the following software is strongly encouraged: Tekla, AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP, CAD-Duct, CAD-Mech, Assemble, Revitzo, Synchro, Fuzor, Solibri, etc. </li></ul> <p>Soft Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent written and oral communication skills </li><li>Self motivated, energetic, detailed oriented, and open minded </li><li>Ability to work well with cross-discipline teams </li><li>Skilled at problem solving </li><li>Strong Time-Management Skills </li></ul> <p>Required Skills</p> <p>Years of Experience: 3-5</p> <p>Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with preference given to Engineering or Construction Management related degrees.</p> <p>Salary Range</p> <p>$85,000.00 - $115,000.00</p>
