<p>About Us</p> <p>Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) is an award-winning, medium-hub commercial service airport that served more than 10 million passengers in 2023 and is one of the top 50 airports in the United States for passenger traffic. Fifteen airlines serve RSW with nonstop service to 68 markets, including Canada and Germany. The economic impact of the airport is $8.3 billion annually to the Southwest Florida region and more than 60,000 jobs. Page Field (FMY), an FAA-designated reliever airport, provides services to general and business aviation and accommodated more than 203,000 aircraft operations in 2023, a new record. Base Operations at Page Field is an award-winning, fixed-based operator and has been recognized for its customer service and facilities. </p> <p>A Terminal Expansion Project Phase 1 is currently underway at RSW to improve the airport travel experience by consolidating the security checkpoints, adding concession space and providing passengers more amenities and options. The Terminal Expansion Phase 2 Project began in fall 2024 and will add Concourse E with 14 gates, expand the Chiller Plant Facility, as well as make other associated terminal, landside and airside improvements.</p> <p>The anticipated hourly starting rate for the ideal candidate is between $24.92 and $29.90 </p> <p>The Position </p> <p>The Lee County Port Authority is seeking a skilled and highly motivated individual to join our finance team where you will enjoy a supportive work environment in a challenging and rewarding career in the aviation industry. The Staff accountant is responsible for preparing and posting general ledger entries, performing reconciliations, assisting in the preparation, implementation and maintenance of accounting procedures, supporting other areas within the finance department as necessary. This role requires excellent communication skills and  will perform other duties as required.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities </p> <ul> <li>Considerable knowledge of general accounting theory and financial reporting, preferably in government accounting.      </li><li>Familiarity with fiscal principles, practices and reporting     </li><li>Ability to perform accounting procedures in the maintenance of fiscal accounting records; perform detailed work involving written or numeric data and make mathematical calculations rapidly and accurately;  analyze  data   and  prepare related   fiscal reports     </li><li>Ability to summarize and analyze financial and accounting data  </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with others and at various levels of an organization </li><li>Attributes include, critical thinking, problem solving, excellent time management, ability to multitask and prioritize effectively, highly organized and methodological approach to daily work </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration from an accredited four-year college/university required with accounting experience preferred or candidates nearing graduation or with advanced accounting coursework. </li><li>Public agency experience in accounting is preferred </li><li>Considerable knowledge of personal computer with Microsoft Office, Google or similar software experience. </li><li>Must possess a valid Florida driver's license. </li></ul> <p>  Emergency Response/Recovery Activities: Lee County Port Authority personnel are designated by tier levels and may be called upon to assist with an emergency or unforeseen event at any time.
