This entry-level role offers a valuable opportunity to learn about public procurement while contributing to our organization's efficiency. In this position, you will support a range of administrative and operational tasks, including compiling data, preparing reports, and maintaining records related to contracts and vendor activities. You will also monitor expenditures, track contract information, and assist with invoice reviews to ensure compliance. As you gain experience, you'll engage in research, help prepare budget materials, and support the development of administrative procedures. You will respond to inquiries and coordinate with internal departments and external partners to facilitate communication. We are looking for a detail-oriented, eager learner who can multitask and is committed to accuracy and effective communication. This individual will have a solid grasp of administrative and fiscal processes, enabling them to conduct research, compile data, and produce clear, accurate reports. Familiarity with the City's centralized purchasing functions, such as purchase orders and the RFP process, will certainly help them shine in this role. With excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to detail, they will comfortably review documents, maintain records, and assist with routine budget tracking. Their ability to provide outstanding customer service and collaborate effectively with City management, staff, and vendors is invaluable. Thriving in a teamwork-driven atmosphere, they work well under guidance and are eager to develop their procurement skills. We value their sound judgment and reliability as they follow established procedures and learn to interpret policies and regulations. Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and common office software is essential, and we appreciate their curiosity and initiative in problem-solving. Overall, we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about contributing positively to our team and helping us achieve our goals. Previous Government or City experience is highly desirable.</p> <p>MINIMUM AND DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>An associate's degree with major coursework in finance, public or business administration or a closely related field OR, equivalent related work experience; AND </li><li>At least one (1) year of paraprofessional experience performing administrative, operations, budgetary and similar analyses; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. </li><li>Experience in a governmental agency is preferred </li></ul> <p>Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>A valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the City's vehicle insurance policy. </li></ul> <p>WHO WE ARE</p> <p>The City of Moreno Valley prides itself on delivering quality service to our residents and businesses efficiently and effectively through Collaboration, Innovation, Customer Service, and Human-Centric Design.
