<p>Upper Valley Career Center</p> <p>Position Announcement</p> <p>Open Position: Treasurer's Assistant - Payroll</p> <p>Location: Upper Valley Career Center - Main High School</p> <p>Employment Begins: ASAP</p> <p>Application Deadline: May 14, 2025</p> <p>General Job Description:</p> <p>Upper Valley Career Center is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Treasurer Assistant - Payroll to join our team. This role is responsible for the processing of employee payroll and benefits, providing essential support of the Treasurer's office.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:</p> <p>*</p> <ul> <li> <p>Processing payroll and verifying time sheets</p> </li><li> <p>Calculating gross wages and reconciling payroll records</p> </li><li> <p>Distributing paychecks or deposit confirmations as directed</p> </li><li> <p>Preparing wage change notices and maintaining accurate salary placement records</p> </li><li> <p>Managing payroll deduction forms and tracking leave balances (medical, disability, vacation, etc.)</p> </li><li> <p>Ensuring timely submission of payroll reports and tax payments</p> </li><li> <p>Preparing W-2 forms and maintaining periodic payroll reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual)</p> </li><li> <p>Assisting with data analysis and audits; balancing ledgers and reconciling statements</p> </li><li> <p>Processing employee terminations, retirements, and benefits-related paperwork</p> </li><li> <p>Handling employment verification requests and supporting workers' compensation and unemployment filings</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Minimum of high school diploma is required</p> </li><li> <p>Five years or greater experience in processing payroll is preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Post-secondary business school training or equivalent accountancy work experience is desirable</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates aptitude in the use of software associated with governmental accounting procedures and automated data processing systems; expertise in eFinancePlus software is ideal</p> </li><li> <p>Follows complex instructions and recognizes/corrects errors independently</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient in spelling, proofreading, and the correct use of grammar. Speaks clearly using proper grammar.</p> </li><li> <p>Displays flexibility, reliability, self-discipline, and a willingness to take on challenging task</p> </li><li> <p>Embodies high ethical standards and integrity. Accepts responsibility for decisions and conduct.</p> </li><li> <p>Respects privacy and maintains the confidentiality of privileged/sensitive information</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares timely paperwork. Collects, formats, and edits information.</p> </li><li> <p>Exhibits effective organization, time-management, and resourceful problem-solving skills</p> </li><li> <p>Interacts confidently with others and displays a strong customer service focus</p> </li><li> <p>Meets all mandated health screening requirements</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment. Able to successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains compliance with drug-free workplace rules, Board policies, and other applicable procedures/guidelines.</p> </li></ul> <p>Salary:</p> <p>Appropriate placement on the District Office Professionals Salary Schedule to be determined by education and experience. Salary will range from $44,997.00 ( Class II, Step 0) to $55,900.00 (Class II, Step 5). Base contract is 260 Days. Minimum workday is 8 hours per day exclusive of a lunch break . One-year contract with opportunity for renewal.</p> <p>Other Benefits:</p> <p>School Employees Retirement System, Worker's Compensation, paid sick/personal leave, partial tuition reimbursement, and tax-sheltered retirement contributions. Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance offered. Some benefits are a shared cost between the employee and the Board of Education.</p> <p>Performance Evaluation:</p> <p>Job performance is evaluated according to policy provisions and contractual agreements adopted by the Upper Valley Career Center.</p> <p>This job posting description identifies general responsibilities and is not intended to be a complete list of all duties performed.
