<p>The purpose of this Co-Op position is to support the trading and portfolio management functions of Federated Hermes MDT Boston, MA. The Co-Op will have knowledge of all basic functions performed in Investment Operations including all aspects of new account initialization, trade support, and proxy voting. The Co-Op will effectively interact with clients, brokers, and Federated Hermes staff in Pittsburgh and Boston on basic issues.</p> <p>POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>General understanding of investments and financial markets preferred </li><li>Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required. </li></ul> <p>MAJOR DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Support the trading and portfolio management functions of the Boston office. </li><li>Review new account documents for completeness and accuracy. </li><li>Set up new accounts on the APL, Axys, Vestmark as well as on DocStar. </li><li>Coordinate "first day of trading" for new accounts through communication with the client, the Boston trading desk and other Investment Operations Specialists. </li><li>Perform pre-market-open reconciliation procedures to ensure that client account data in the portfolio accounting systems is accurate. </li><li>Process deposit and withdrawal requests from brokers and clients, including coordination of trading with the Boston Trading desk. </li><li>Provide a high level of quality service to both internal and external clients. </li><li>Answer questions from clients, brokers, consultants, and sales staff regarding new account processing matters. </li><li>Prepare internal reports for Federated Hermes management regarding new account activity and the status of in process new accounts. </li></ul> <p>HOURS/LOCATION:</p> <ul> <li>7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. </li><li>Hybrid work environment </li><li>Federated Hermes MDTA LLC - Boston, MA 02110 </li></ul> <p>EXPLANATORY COMMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work in a team environment. </li><li>Preference is for students in their Junior or Senior year. </li></ul>
